TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET SS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING FAILED. HEALEY CHEVROLET BUICK (5216 NY-17M, NEW HAMPTON, NY 10958, (845) 360-9821) STATED THAT THE FAILURE CODES MATCHED THE UNKNOWN RECALL REPAIRS THAT WERE COMPLETED BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER A YEAR AGO. THE WARRANTY PERIOD FOR THE RECALL REPAIR EXPIRED; THEREFORE, THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE FAILURE CODES DID NOT MATCH UP WITH THE PREVIOUS RECALL REPAIR AND THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO PAY. THE MANUFACTURER AND THE DEALER CONTRADICTED EACH OTHER. THE MANUFACTURER OFFER TO PAY FOR 40% OF THE REPAIR COSTS, WHICH WAS ESTIMATED AT $1,800. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT BELIEVED FREON WAS LEAKING FROM THE AIR CONDITIONER. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER REFUSED TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER AND STATED THAT A CASE MANAGER WOULD CALL BACK. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000.
