This almost caused an accident on the road. I am bringing it to Honda but it's a known problem and should be recalled. I know the 2012 models had the issue and they were recalled.

On [XXX], my CV axle broke. I was stopped at a stoplight and when the light turned green, I stepped on the accelerator, then heard a VERY loud “clunk” and my car didn’t move. I shifted into all of the other gears, but it didn’t move. I shifted it into Park and called AAA. They dispatched a tow truck driver, who arrived about 45 minutes later. He engaged the emergency brake, after checking under the car and informing me that the driver’s side CV axle had broken, which prevents the car from actually being able to shift into Park. He towed the car to an independent mechanic. Both the tow truck driver and the mechanic said it’s quite uncommon for a CV axle to break. I was about 1/2 mile from getting on the freeway and luckily I didn’t make it that far, because it could have been much worse during rush hour traffic. As it was, I was blocking a lane of traffic at the stoplight. I have both pieces of the driver’s side CV axle in my possession. No one other than the tow truck driver and mechanic have inspected it, yet. I had no warning at all that the axle was about to break. While doing some online research to find out the likelihood of the passenger side CV axle breaking, I came across a recall notice for the drive shaft of certain 2013-2015 Accords in salt belt states. My VIN search showed that my car wasn’t part of this recall and a call to a Honda dealer confirmed this. I’m puzzled, since we live in Wisconsin. Might the recall need to be expanded? Apparentlhy, many VSA Modulator Contol Unit on the ABS on the Honda accords from 2013-2017 have failures right now. My car has the same issue. Took it to the dealership and the guy working there even said this should be a recall. A lot of the honda accords have been having this same issue. All the warning lights on the dash light up and its because of the bad ABS module going bad. I really think honda should take responsibility on this. It is costing me approximately $3000 to fix at the dealership since they have to make connections and bleed all brakes during swap. A number of YouTube videos point to the hair thin connector to card connections as the failure point.

I’ve been to many auto shops including the Honda dealer and they all say my vehicle needs to have the fuel pump replaced. I’ve replaced it more than 5 times. My car stalls and will not accelerate the way it should and is a safety hazard. I am unable to drive the vehicle but it’s the only car I have. I’ve heard similar stories from family members that have the same vehicle. Fortunately they were able to purchase a newer vehicle. Not my case though. There were no warning lights prior to this. My car wouldn’t turn on one day so we changed the battery then it wouldn’t drive and then it started to stall and if driven it won’t accelerate the way it should. My car has been like this since 2022. I’ve called the dealership and they won’t look into it. There is an open recall for the coupe version of my car but they say my car isn’t on the list.

The VSA Modulator on the 2013 Ex-L manual transmission has failed. It illuminated 7 lights. Steering light, abs, FCW, BRAKE, ABS, LDW, Traction Control. The abs modulator internally shuts off all systems within this car. The car is not able to pass inspection because of safety issues. After looking for a used part, i realized there were many complaints on this particular make and model. I am scared to drive the car with these issues, and with 1000s of cars having the same issue with the same part, i would think Honda would correct the issue without spending $1,000’s. There were no symptoms prior. It seems that the internal soldering on the VSA modulator has been coming apart, shutting down the system.

The vehicle or parts have not been inspected by police, insurance representatives, or others, although Galpin Honda performed the above diagnostic. The vehicle dashboard lights mentioned above come on shortly after driving the vehicle at times, with the lights alternating between on and off at any given start-up—they can light up or be off at start-up/drive-off.

My vehicle dash has been displaying the TPMS light (blinking then solid), Power Steering, Traction control light for the past year to two. I have checked my tire pressure they are to specifications the sensors are fine, my traction control does not respond to the button in the car to enable or disable the traction control. I thankfully have not yet lost power steering but the light is on. I had researched the problem and have found several and I mean several honda accord owners all with the same problem. Only yesterday did my ABS light on my dash turned on and has consistently stayed on (on occasion would turn off like the others but then reappear). Based on internet searches and forums all things point to a faulty ABS module, a module countless honda accord owners have indicated Honda is aware of such fault and expect honda owners to pay an exorbitant amount of money to repair it when its a model wide issue. The danger this poses is the uncertainty of the reliability of these features that are meant to keep motorists safe. To make matters worse I am concerned about the safety of my family with a toddler and infant when riding my vehicle. This is not something that broke down due to negligence on the vehicle owners part. This is a manufacturer issue that affects every single honda accord from 2013 through 2022. To make matters worse when people tried to get the ABS module fixed its unavailable. Honda needs to repair all these modules and a recall needs to be issued. This is unacceptable. I will be very hesitant to buy another Honda again.

Steering gets very stiff sometimes and you have to yank it to control the vehicle's direction. This has been happening over the past year and is now happening more frequently. Re: complaint #11590390, after loosing my steering I had to take my car to the dealer I found no recalls on this website but much to my surprise there is. Honda replaced the steering gearbox. Total parts and labor came to $3056.69. The recall campaign number for the ESP gearbox replacement is 15-056-5Z200, good info for the future for you and anyone else having this issue. Not bad for a eleven year old car, not to mention how happy I was not having to pay for the repair. Thank you Honda.
