Vsa module failure. Anti lock brakes will not work unless repaired. Honda dealer quoted repair over 2500.00 dollars. Know issue of poor quality design and use of inferior parts to make module failure imminent.

Honda Service has reported I need a VSA Modulator Assembly replaced and they want me to order this part now which is on backorder for at least 2-3 months. Car had 87,000 miles at time of inspection. I have tried to source this assembly from various Honda dealers and parts distributors to no avail. Cost will be $2,800 to replace. There are many other Honda owners experiencing this same problem but Honda will not cover the costs and seem to have no way to expedite the parts. They have started a VSA recall in newer Honda models on a limited basis. The VSA modulator is a safety feature on the car and I notice a difference in the stability and braking of the car. I am sure if I have an accident, the fact that the lights are on the dashboard will negate my insurance coverage if it can be related specifically to the VSA modulator. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE Why are so many owners affected by this and yet Honda is getting away with it. This Honda is no where near the quality of my first Honda Accord in 1999.

They scanned for the codes and it brought up the VSA Modulator (aka ABS Module) malfunction. I researched through forums and it is a common issue with Honda ABS module. The VSA/ABS module has to be replaced due to electrical issues within the module. This could lead to a crash/injury.

Driving vehicle and dashboard lit up like Christmas. Lights included FCW, ABS, Lane Departure, etc. Shut vehicle down and lights turned off upon starting the car, but quickly came back on and now they are on for good. I took it to the Gary Smith Honda in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. They ran a diagnostic check and reported code 66-11, pressure sensor circuit malfunction, VSA modulator is faulty. Dealership quoted $2,600 to fix issue. Dealer advised vehicle is not safe to drive as brakes could lock up and traction control is faulty. I looked on YouTube and found this to be a wide-spreed issue with more than 10k views on each video where mechanics were discussing the issue and providing repair tips. I’m encouraging everyone in the comments to file a complaint with NHTSA as several are already on file and it appears the Honda Pilot already has a recall for this exact issue.

An incident has not occurred, however, if I keep driving there may be one with the brake controls. The VSA Modular unit has gone haywired and now my brakes are getting stuck and not sure if when I stop they may not work due to the system lights appearing. Honda dealer says it's faulty and when looking the problem up, seems like most hondas get this problem. This should be safety recall, especially if your warranty has run out. Costly and aggravating.

The ABS Modulator Assembly VSA for my Honda Accord LX-S Coupe is failing. My dashboard has several lights on the dash indicating an issue with ABS system. A mechanic (Russell & Smith Honda) in Houston, TX inspected my car on Wednesday, June 7 and indicated that the ABS system needs to be replaced. The ABS Modulator needs to be recalled because the wiring inside the modulator is incredibly thin. This is the only module that is failing and has this type of wiring thus creating a broken circuit. Honda should have instead created a circuit board with thicker wiring and act as a connector itself. Honda should be held responsible to creating a safer ABS modulator. This is a major safety concern as it affects thousands of people owning this vehicle and increases the likelihood of a brake malfunction. This can cause accidents and it is a costly fix for consumers. I am requesting a recall on this part.

Mine has failed… and I see online that the connector wires are too thin, and this VSA brake modulator is a widespread problem in Honda Accords from 2012-17. All the dashboard warning lights kick on. The ABS Modulator has failed. It is available for inspection for $120 at the dealer which does not go towards the repair. I went to an independent shop and was told that they can't figure out the problem because of the complex computer system in Hondas. I then had it inspected at Honda and was told I need to replace the modulator for $1650 parts and labor. The ABS system including the front collision warning and lane departure warning are no longer reliable. If I put off the repair I am at risk of the antilock brake system failing and the brakes locking up, the stability and traction control not working, and the brake pedal may become unresponsive over time. There are 5 warning lights that come on intermittently. This has been happening for the last year. This is a defective part and an ongoing problem for 2013-2015 Honda owners with many forums discussing the issue. It can occur with any amount of mileage on the car so that doesn't seem to be a factor.
