THE CAR DEVELOPED A COOLANT LEAK THAT WAS DISCOVERED WHEN I STOPPED THE CAR AND NOTICED FLUID LEAKING UNDER THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR TIRE. THE CAR WAS TAKEN IN TO PORSCHE AND THERE WAS A FAILED COOLANT LINE. *TR

DUE TO WELL-DOCUMENTED ISSUES WITH GLUED COOLANT TUBES FAILING AND RESULTANT LOSS OF COOLANT OVER REAR TIRES WHICH WOULD ALMOST CERTAINLY MAKE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE IMPOSSIBLE IN THE "GT1"-ENGINE PORSCHE MODELS, I HAD THE COOLANT TUBES WELDED TO THE COOLANT MANIFOLD OF THE ENGINE AT MY EXPENSE AT MY LOCAL PORSCHE DEALER TO PREVENT THE FAILURE FROM OCCURRING. I STRONGLY FEEL THAT THIS KNOWN FAILURE MODE SHOULD BE COVERED BY A NHTSA RECALL AND THE COST OF THE REPAIR SHOULD BE BORNE BY PORSCHE. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2011 Porsche 911 Gt3 RS verdict →
