Sunroof tempered glass spontaneous explosion. Loud explosion startled me and my wife, good thing the sliding roof cover was closed otherwise small pieces of sharp glasses will hit us on our head, face and shoulders. Lexus of Oakland denied any product defect and blaming a foreign "magnetic" object hit the sunroof. I was only driving 20 mph in a residential neighborhood and no cars in front of me when the sunroof exploded. No warning lamp or symptoms prior to the incident. My wife and I were scared!

The driver side mirror shakes around 45 to 50 miles an hour plus. The passenger side mirror at the same speeds stays true and does not vibrate. While I am driving mostly on the highway the driver side mirror shakes or bounces up and down which distorts the images behind me. It is a safety concern where I am getting dizzy while driving. I brought the car back to the dealership Lexus of Pembroke Pines, and they replaced the entire mirror assembly, but it is having the same problem again. The car is not even two weeks old. The constant vibration is a legitimate safety concern and prevents me from safely operating this vehicle.

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2025 Lexus GX 550 verdict →
