I was driving last night on the highway in a monster rainstorm in Long Island, NY. In a full monsoon the wipers stopped working stuck in the up position. I was fortunate to not get in a very serious accident as I was going 50mph with ZERO visibility. I was able to make it to the side of the road where i drove with my hazards to exit the highway and pull into a gas station. I could have been killed. I called BMW to have the car towed to the dealer as it was still raining and I was unable to drive. It was over 2 hours for the tow so I waited for the rain to stop and then I drove home.

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2025 BMW I4 Xdrive40 verdict →
