2024 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy. Clicking/knocking noise from left rear shock absorber area. Noise occurs when accelerating from a stop as the rear of the vehicle compresses under load, and can be reproduced by pushing the rear of the vehicle up and down. Consistent with known self-leveling rear shock absorber failure documented in TSB 22-22-001H, which has been reported across multiple Palisade model years. Dealer appointment scheduled for May 4, 2025. Issue is ongoing.

2024 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy. Single loud popping noise from right rear area occurring approximately 10–20 seconds after coming to a complete stop. Noise is consistent and repeatable during normal everyday driving. Suspected cause is brake caliper, rotor thermal expansion, sway bar end link, or rear suspension bushing releasing load after vehicle settles. Dealer appointment scheduled for May 4, 2025. Issue is ongoing.

Posterior shocks fractured at 24,000 miles. Car handles poorly and drives unsteady. Dealer has confirmed fracture and has promised new shocks 4 months ago. Have contacted Hyundai corporate and have been told weekly that they are working on a solution but have no idea when a solution will come. There was no warning when this occurred.

2 open recalls on safety with no fix yet. Suspension has messed up, random electrical issues in dash and cruise control. My transmission also stalls at certain times. Dealership replaces struts, states they can’t get the vehicle electrical to act up although I have photos and videos and they can’t get the engine to stall. They can’t fix my seatbelts or the airbag and now a theirs row recall note was sent this week for it. This vechicle is not safe to drive/ride my children in and they can’t fix it.

The car started having a sound that sounded like a bowling ball rolling around in the back. I emptied trunk space and had tires checked but there was no issue. I called the dealership and they stated they knew what it was because it was a common problem in the Hyundai Palisade. I made an appointment to come in and have it fixed, along with a safety recall for rear seatbelts. The appointment was made in early January 2026 to bring the car in on 2/2/26. When I arrived they had no record of my appointment and told me I could bring it back another day. I refused because the car has a safety issue as well as sounding like the wheel is coming off. They asked me to leave it and told me it would be a few days because they would need to order parts. The next day I got a call saying the parts for the safety recall were backordered but the suspension repair would be done by 2/5/26. I called on 2/9/26 because I had not gotten any information and they stated the parts for both repairs were backordered. I asked how long and they said 2-4 weeks. It has been 7 weeks and I still have no car. When I call to check (they have never reached out to me for an update unless I call them) I am told parts are still backordered and there is no projected date. I have now made 2 car payments on a car I can't drive. I have no rental vehicle and was not offered one. The dealership seems unconcerned.

at low speeds on bumpy surfaces the entire front end, (brakes and suspension), sometimes shakes heavily when brakes are applied. Shaking is so severe that brakes have to be released then reapplied. When dealer was advised during a normal service the advisers claimed to have no knowledge of the issue. I had advised before visiting for the service however no action was taken by them. I shall visit another Hyundai dealer in the immediate future to attempt a resolution.

I have a 2024 Palisade, and any small bump, pothole, or lane bump causes my steering wheel to shake uncontrollably. If I go over a speed bump or come down an incline, the brakes make a rumbling sound, and if I try to brake, the brakes stutter and just shake. I’ve almost hit a car in front of me a few times because it didn’t want to stop. This is a very expensive SUV to be having these issues, and it’s a major safety concern.

The contact owns a 2024 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while driving at a slower speed than 60 MPH or attempting to make a left or right turn, there was an abnormal tapping sound coming from the driver’s side rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, and it was diagnosed that the driver’s side rear suspension bracket needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, while driving, the tapping sound returned, and the vehicle was driven back to the dealer. The dealer replaced another suspension bracket on the same driver’s side rear; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.

My brakes are intermittently disengaging during bumps and potholes. I experience a rattling undercarriage and pedal vibration. Sometimes I must crank the steering wheel to regain braking. This poses an immediate safety risk to myself and others. The service advisor mentioned other customers coming in for the same issue. I have had my car in three times for this issue but they’ve never been able to replicate the issue. It has been an ongoing issue since the inception of the lease but has gotten progressively worse. This is a life-threatening issue.

I started hearing a rear thunking noise at approximately 10,000 miles. It was sporadic, not constant. With more miles, more distinct noise from rear of vehicle. At service appt and 24,000 miles a leaking rear shock was replaced. Two days later the same noise returned. The car goes back in to dealer tomorrow. Everything I’ve read points to this vehicle model having serious suspension issues - particularly with strut and shock assemblies.

After about 15,000 miles of normal driving (a few road trips but mostly commuting and taking the kids to school and sports, no towing or off roading), my vehicle developed a clunking noise. This noise was inspected by the dealer and determined to be an issue with the rear struts. This is the first time in almost 30 years of vehicle ownership that I have had a vehicle require a strut replacement.

There is a constant thumping noise while driving my car and rides really rough.I’ve been there 5 times already. I had both shock absorber replaced and it’s still making that thumping noise. I do not want to send it to the dealership that replaced it because my paint or doors would get damaged and last time they broke the back passenger side faring.

Since around the 1000-mile mark, I have been having an issue sporadically we are when I am breaking and going over either a pothole, an entrance to a driveway, railroad tracks, or in general slowing down toward a stop sign going under approximately 15 miles an hour the entire car loses control and starts shaking. The ABS system or something similar is kicking in at the wrong times and it is perilous and can cause an accident as you have no control over the braking anymore for a few seconds. The entire car shakes in the front end, including feeling it through the brake pedal as well as the steering wheel. I have brought the vehicle many times to my local Hyundai dealership and have been told there is no issue and everything is operating according to how it should when I took the head of their maintenance shop out for a ride and replicated the issue I was told that it is operating normally and despite many people having the same issue online he was told by their back and " Tech line team" to say this is operating normally. Hyundai needs to be held accountable for these dangerous cars as it is only a matter of time before someone loses their life when they cannot control their vehicles braking power during such an incident.

WHEN BRAKING ON BUMPY ROAD THE BRAKES DO NOT STOP THE CAR AND CAR BEGINS TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND IT STOPS ABRUPTLY AFTER MOVING SEVERAL FEET. CAR IS AT RISK OF HITTING A PEDESTRIAN CROSSING IN FRONT OF CAR. DEALER REPLACED ONE STRUT THE BELIEVED WAS CAUSING THE PROBLEM. PROBLEM PERSISTED AND DEALER SAID THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE SO THEY WILL NOT REPLACE THE 2ND STRUT. SEEMS LIKE THE SOLUTION IS REPLACING THE STRUT BUT DEALER WILL NOT REPLACE AT NO COST. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. NOT SURE IF THE STRUT IS THE SOLUTION OR IF ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM IS FAULTY.

Hyundai Service for Malfunction 8-10-24 Took New 2024 Palisade to Hallmark Hyundai Service Dept. for issue with handling On 4 different occasions while driving out of a parking garage at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville TN, going approximately 5 MPH or so, the front wheels started moving back and forth very violently. Steering wheel shaking with violent wheel movement. I held the steering wheel Firmly and slammed the brakes. Shaking stopped. This happened on 3 different occasions. The forth occasion happened while pulling into a parking area at Centennial Park, Nashville TN. I hit a small pot hole and the same activity occurred while driving 10-15MPH. I held the steering wheel Firmly and Firmly applied the brakes to make it stop the shaking. Reported the incident to Hallmark Hyundai on 8-7-24. Nicole set me an appointment for 8-10-24 at 8am for immediate inspection and to make sure everything was still “tight”. After meeting with the technician, her immediate comment was that this is called a “Death Wobble”. They ran a full diagnostic and found no codes. They want me to bring the vehicle back and keep it and perform tests and more inspection for this may be the first report of such dangerous activity. They think it could be the driving assist system, abs, suspension issues, etc.??? The technician stated that the “Death Wobble” happened to her once while traveling at a speed of 60MPH. I asked if this could happen at any traveling speed, the answer was YES!!!!

The contact owns a 2024 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the Forward Collision Avoidance system erroneously activated causing the vehicle to abruptly stop. During the failure there were no other vehicles or objects nearby. Additionally, while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would not properly accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. In addition, while making left turns there was a popping sound coming from the front of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed and determined that the front differential was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 250.

One month into ownership of my 2024 Palisade Limited AWD, I was approaching a stop light going ~20 mph and started to apply the brakes as I passed over some slightly bumpy ground. The car lurched forward repeatedly as the brakes were applied, bouncing forward in spurts rather than stopping and taking twice as long to stop than it should have; I was one foot from rear-ending the car in front of me despite beginning to break with plenty of time to stop - this is so far from how an ABS system is supposed to work and I've never experienced it in another car. Hyundai corporate has told me that, upon testing other Palisades, they have discovered that this happens in ALL 2024 Palisades. This is troubling for several reasons: 1) The car exhibited an inability to effectively brake in a very common situation (braking when traveling at low speeds on slightly bumpy ground). Several people have noted this experience in Reddit posts; 2) I have been driving for 25 years; I’ve driven other cars with antilock brake systems and have never been in a wreck. This is unlike any experience I’ve ever had in a car and it’s very abnormal / incredibly dangerous; 3) When asked to recreate the issue at the dealership, the head mechanic rode with me and said, “The car shouldn’t do that,” when it occurred with him the car. It was clear that he found it to be very concerning behavior. Hyundai kept the car in the shop for 2 days shy of a month. At the beginning of the month, they apparently did not know that the 2024 Palisade behaved this way. Over the course of the month, they learned that this is how a Palisade behaves when driven over uneven ground at moderate to low speeds because they tried it with other cars they had on hand. This vehicle is prone to rear-end cars in front of it when stopping and also to bouncing out in the middle of an intersection when approaching a stoplight /stop sign. It will kill people of unaddressed. There are no messages / warning lights on in the car.

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2024 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid Hev verdict →
