My vehicle hyuandai pallasade 2024 was stopped behind a white car. My vehicle was struck from behind. The vehicle was a large truck that hit at approximately 55-60 mph per highway patrol. This pushed my Hyundai into the white car in front of me and flipping my vehicle front down into a ditch with rear tires suspended in the air. The airbags did not deploy, the entire third row collapsed up to the second row. My vehicle sustained front, rear and side impact with no airbag deployment.

RE: Failed Radar Braking on a 2024 Hyundai Palisade What component or system failed or malfunctioned .. . . On Feb 8th, 2026 I was driving in to Lakeland FL on I-75 N, in the right hand lane, near a green stoplight following a car 2 lengths ahead. The radar cruise control was slowing me down, keeping up with the car in front. Another driver suddenly cut in front of me from the far left lane. The cruise slammed on the brakes. Within seconds he took a hard right to catch an exit ramp. The radar cruise then accelerated at an extremely high rate, and no Braking, causing me to hit the car in front of me, which was stopped about a car length away at a red light. Our air bags, 3 on driver's side, 1 on the passenger side deployed and my wife and I appeared to have no injury. The Hyundai front end crumpled in, trapping us in the car. The police pried open the doors to get us out. The car was totaled. We rented a car through our insurance and continued our 4 day journey home. On the 3rd day my right leg started turning black and blue. By the 4th day my left leg started doing the same. On returning to Stevens Point I went to the ER. The Dr. said the bruises would take several weeks to clear. And it is not unusual for the bruising to appear several days later. On March 9th both my legs developed large hematomas. The right one just above the ankle, the left just below the knee. A week after that the right hematoma developed 2 deep open wounds and I had to go for wound care involving twice daily bandage changes and then a wound vac. The Dr. says it will be a long recovery. I would have been better off without the leg airbags. Two people in the front car claimed whiplash and were taken to the hospital for observation. The police said they did not appear to be injured, but better safe than sorry. We were trapped in the car and couldn't get out till the Police got there 20 minutes later. By then the ones in the front car had been taken away.

1. The exact component that failed is unknown at this time. The fire appeared to originate in the driver-side front area of the engine compartment near the headlight. Prior to the fire the vehicle experienced engine shaking and a check engine light. The vehicle has been towed to a Hyundai dealership and is available for inspection by insurance investigators, the manufacturer, or safety investigators upon request. 2. The vehicle caught fire while it was being operated on a public roadway shortly after leaving our residence. Flames were visible from the engine compartment within minutes of driving. This created an immediate safety risk to the occupants of the vehicle and to other motorists because the fire occurred suddenly while the vehicle was in motion. 3. The problem has not been reproduced. The vehicle was towed to a Hyundai dealership following the fire incident and is awaiting inspection. The vehicle is a total loss. 4. The vehicle has been inspected by a tow operator and insurance representatives after the fire incident. The vehicle is currently located at a Hyundai dealership and may be inspected by the manufacturer or investigators if requested. 5. Yes. Prior to the fire the check engine warning light illuminated and the engine began shaking while the vehicle was being driven. Within moments of these symptoms a loud popping sound was heard from the front driver-side engine compartment area, followed by visible flames.

There is a known issue documented online regarding the 2024 Hyundai Palisade and the ABS system. On multiple occasions we have noticed that when driving at slow speeds (less than 25 miles per hour) and if the road is slightly uneven, gravel, on an incline or decline, the brake pedal start to vibrate and there is loss of control and increased stopping distance. We reported this previously to Hyundai dealership and they found no fault. Today, 9/30/25, the care was involved in a low speed collision in which the Palisade rear ended another vehicle. Once again the car started to skid and hit the other vehicle. I dropped the car off today at the dealership.

When I attempted to brake (approx. 10 mph), my vehicle: - Began pulsing/jerking, consistent with ABS engaging. No matter how hard I pressed the brake my car would not stop it's kept pulsing - alerts and Beeping with a forward collision warning went off - car Lurched/jumped forward rather than stopping smoothly. This resulted in a minor rear-end contact with the vehicle ahead. She properly engaged the parking gear selection and turned off the engine. After opening the rear hatch to retrieve shopping bags and securely closing it, she proceeded into the commissary to shop. Upon returning approximately 15 minutes later, she discovered the vehicle was no longer in its original parking position. The Palisade had rolled away from where it was parked and collided with a parked 2018 Toyota Sienna, resulting in property damage to both vehicles. Actions Taken: Due to concerns about a potential mechanical defect that may have caused this unintended vehicle movement, we immediately contacted Hyundai customer service. We have since scheduled and completed diagnostic inspections at two separate Hyundai dealerships. Both dealerships performed comprehensive diagnostics but reported finding no mechanical issues. Safety Concerns: This incident represents a significant safety hazard. The unintended movement of our vehicle in a parking lot could have resulted in serious injury to pedestrians or other motorists. We are deeply concerned about the potential for this incident to recur and cause harm to others. I had started rolling forward and hit my brakes when I noticed she had hit her brakes. My vehicle started to vibrate and keep going. It did nit stop right away it way like it was just skiding. My vehicle has done this before but this time it did not stop quick enough to avoid hitting the vehicle in front t of me I have notified Hyundai of the issue and after doing research I have found Hyundai is awRe of an issue with the 2023, 2024 and 2025 models. There is also a class action law suit for thus same reason. I am waiting to hear back from Hyundai.

I was in stop and go traffic on a side road. I was traveling about 5-15 mph on an uneven road surface. The traffic stopped in front of me and I applied my brakes. I heard the grinding sound of the anti-lock brakes but my car did not stop. My foot was to the ground on the brake and it didn’t even slow down. I ended up hitting the car in front of me. This has happened before but I never hit anything before. It happens all of the time on uneven road surfaces such as man hole covered, rail road crossings, or construction or potholes.

As the vehicle drove over railroad tracks the steering wheel began to shake violently and I attempted to push the brake pedal with my full body weight but the brakes would not work and the car lunged forward, striking the vehicle in front of me. The failure of the brake system on my 2024 Hyundai Palisade prevented me from stopping the vehicle and thus I impacted the vehicle in front of me putting not only my life in jeopardy but also the driver of the car in front of me. I sustained a neck injury and headaches and have required ongoing medical care as a result. This vibrating steering wheel and braking issue has happened in the past several times and was reported to Wiesner Hyundai on several occasions; however, the dealership was not able to recreate the problem. The vehicle has been inspected by the service department at Wiesner Hyundai. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problems prior to the failure.

The contact owned a 2024 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated while driving at approximately 65 MPH, an 18-wheeler crashed while driving approximately 85-90 MPH into the rear end of the vehicle and impacted the vehicle approximately 4 times including the passenger side. As a result, the vehicle ricocheted into a concrete barrier. The contact did not recollect where the vehicle came to a stop. The contact mentioned that the driver of the 18-wheeler stated that he was unaware the contact vehicle was in front. The air bags failed to deploy. No warning lights were illuminated. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the vehicle was totaled. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Driving on a 4 lane street at approximately 25 mph in the right hand lane next to curb when another vehicle swerved from the left lane into my lane. I slammed on the brakes in an attempt to stop and avoid any contact with the other vehicle. All the brakes did was a hard and long shudder, and did not seem to even slow my car let alone stop the car. Fortunately, the other vehicle attempting to swerve into my lane stopped. My vehicle never stopped and only seemed to slow down slightly. All I could do was to move my vehicle more towards the curb. At the time, I did not feel any impact and assumed no contact or damage. The other driver continued down the road and got onto the highway. When I got to a place to stop, I looked at my vehicle and do have damage to the left rear wheel well trim and back quarter fender area. My car would not stop. It felt as the ABS system was modulating hard. The road was dry, and the temp was in the mid 60's. This is not the first issue like this, and Hyundai says there is no problem and they will not fix it. The last time I took into the shop for this, it was there almost 90 days before Hyundai said come get the vehicle.

I was pulling into my driveway [XXX] when I engaged the brake pedal pushing it fully down to stop behind my other vehicle. The antilock brake system seemed to turn on and the car did not stop. The steering wheel started shaking violently and the car went forward another 10-15 feet and I crashed into my other car, all while the brake pedal was completely down. We brought the car in to the dealership, Ettleson Hyundai in Countryside, IL, where they could not reproduce the event. They changed out the main governor of the ABS system anyway. Driving slowly in a parking lot, went over a speed bump and the car suddenly started to shake/rumble and the brakes did not work. Almost hit the car infront of me. Very forcibly, applied brakes again which did stop the car. Just did a Google search and others have reported same issue and one suggested to file this complaint with you as apparently Hyundai is doing nothing about it. Car has just over 3000 miles on it and we have had no other issues. We have not brought it to service as it has just happened today. No warning lights came on. This is copied from a post 5 months ago: Hyundai corporate has told me that, upon testing other Palisades, they have discovered that this happens in ALL 2024 Palisades". I do not think this is a safe "idiosycrysity" that all Palidades should have.

Engine fire caused by AC compressor. On 09/28/24, at 1700 miles and in the parking lot of a restaurant, smoke suddenly began filling the cabin and when I looked out the window the entire car's front was engulfed in a gray smoke. The overpowering smell was of burning wire insulation, plastic, and rubber. I immediately shut the car off, popped the hood, and was ready to run into the restaurant for a fire extinguisher when I noticed the large cloud of smoke was dissipating, but the heat was still incredibly extreme and a good amount of smoke was still pouring from the engine. My sister-in-law entered the car to retrieve her purse, and her eyes instantly started watering and she had a headache for several days. She is still complaining of her chest burning. After calling roadside, the AAA driver stated the car really smelled badly burned, and hauled the car off to the dealer of purchase. The fire was on 09/28/24 (a Saturday), and on Monday, 09/30/24, I submitted what took place to Hyundai. This is when the fraud started and Hyundai, with the help of the dealer, have purposely done everything possible to conceal the fire. I have full details of this fraud, and it's simply shocking. I am awaiting information regarding the restaurant's video recordings.

The contact sustained knee and leg inquires. The contact was pending a doctor's appointment. A police report was filed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
