The contact owns a 2024 Ford Edge. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V124000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted, and a software update was performed but the issue persisted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact stated that the rearview camera intermittently displayed a blank image. The failure also affected the radio and the air conditioning system and the air conditioning was inoperable. The approximate failure mileage was 26,000.

The contact stated that the failure was not identified until after the crash. The image was still displayed on the rear-view camera display after the crash. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. No Police report was filed. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent at first but had become a recurring failure. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact had researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V315000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 9,000.

The contact stated that employees occasionally reported that while reversing, the center display was blank. There was no warning light illuminated.
