The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 20 MPH, as he was slowing to exit a highway, he observed that a warning "low power mode" had illuminated on the instrument cluster. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled at the same time the warning illuminated. As a result of the loss of power, the contact crashed into the passenger side of the vehicle and side-swiped a guard rail. The contact stated that the police were not called, and he was not injured. The contact had the vehicle towed to a local dealer who diagnosed that the passenger side front tire and passenger rear tire needed to have the rotors replaced. The contact stated that there were scrapes along the bottom door panels on the passenger side. The contact stated that the dealer did not address why the vehicle had stalled and quoted him for repairing the wheels. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact received notice of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V437000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) a month before the crash. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000.

The complaint was filed on behalf of the contact's mother who owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while the contact's mother was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle's speed independently increased. The contact's mother depressed the brake pedal; however, the vehicle failed to stop as intended. The contact stated that the vehicle was uncontrollable. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle almost crashed into a crowd of individuals. The contact stated that the contact's mother was picking up the contact's father at the valet stand at the local clinic when the failure occurred. The vehicle was towed to a local tow yard. The contact's mother received medical treatment. The contact's mother sustained an injury to her right hand and right wrist. A Police report was filed, however the information was unavailable. The contact's mother received a recall notification, NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V4370000 (Engine and Engine Cooling), however the parts were not available. The contact was concerned that the manufacturer had initiated the recall, and parts were not available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
