2023 MERCEDES GT 43 AMG, approximately one year old caught fire in the garage of our home. The car was off and sitting in the garage for approximately 10 hours prior to fire damaging the garage and parts of the house. This occurred at approximately [XXX] on [XXX]. There were 3 people in the house including [XXX]. One adult was awake at the time and alerted to the smell of smoke coming from the garage. Everyone was evacuated and the fire department was called. Upon arriving, garage was opened and front of Mercedes was in flames. Fire was put out by the fire department. The vehicle has since been inspected by car insurance, Mercedes corporate and fire department. The car has been deemed a total loss. There were no warning lamps, messages or anything else going on with the car prior to fire. The car is currently in the hands of State Farm and is available for inspection upon request.
