The contact stated that the back over prevention camera failed to display images of pedestrians or vehicles. The contact stated that due to the failure, the contact almost struck a pedestrian. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the failure was not duplicated. The vehicle was then taken to another dealer where a software update was performed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact was offered a buyback. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.
