I had recently had my backup camera/and radio repaired as they are synchronized to work together at a dealership. On [XXX] the issue has happened again, and it is available for inspection upon request. My safety, and others could be put at risk due to potential collisions. The issue has been reproduced, and confirmed upon the first incident of this happening at Capital CDJR Of Indian Trail, NC whom also did the first repair. At this point the vehicle has not been inspected as it started again this morning. The backup camera went glitchy, then said camera system not available, then went glitchy again. This occurred on [XXX]. This is my second time filing a complaint for this issue. Thank your organization for keeping our roads safe. I hope this issue doesn't have any negative safety incidents for myself, or others. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Within two days of owning the car the windshield cracked. I was backing out of garage and heard a sound, a crack appeared on the passenger side of windshield midway up. It extended horizontally approx 12" toward the center of windshield. Have heard multiple other customers have had the same issue.

Windshield cracking for no apparent reason. I do not know the underlying cause however there are many people reporting this issue on social media sites. Some suspect welding/bonding issues resulting in flex causing the crack under stress. My car was sitting in the garage when the windshield cracked from the A-pillar inward. All videos, pictures submitted from others show the crack in a similar fashion. Driver/Passenger side from the A-Pillar. Some have provided pictures/videos of brand new cars sitting on the lot with the crack. Others are on their 2nd and 3rd windshield replacement.

When the manual cruise control or the adaptive cruise control is engaged, the speed setting is not displayed as indicated by the user manual of the vehicle. This provides a hazard when using the cruise control, as it creates a situation where you can engage cruise or adaptive cruise without knowing what the speed it is set to, and could potentially result in a collision. Additionally, when adjusting the speed setting of the cruise control, it is you can't see what the speed is adjusted to. This speed setting is displayed on older versions of the vehicle (I previously owned a 2019 challenger that displayed the setting). I have not yet taken the vehicle to the dealer, but have found multiple accounts online of other 2023 Dodge Challengers experiencing the same problem. It would appear to be a software issue, as the manual and adaptive cruise controls function normally other than not being able to see the set speed. Please see the attached photo, Adaptive cruise is currently on, indicated by the green icon on the left of the screen, but the manual indicates the speed setting should be indicated below the green icon.

I somewhat recently purchased a car from Capital Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Indian Trail, NC that is still under warranty. Less than a year old, a little over 5k miles. Recently my backup camera is saying not available or it is very glitchy, also trunk lid liner loose. This is my daily driver. Dangerous to operate, as it drastically decreases my rear visibility. Took it in a couple of weeks ago, waited over two hours for them to say it needed further diagnosis because they don't know what the issue is, or how to fix it They didn't initially offer me a car to drive as this is my only vehicle. When I said that I was contacting the NHTSA, FTC, NCDOJ consumer division, and the DOT, they said drop it off, we'll give you a car to drive. Now they are not responding to my calls or emails, after they said bring it in at my convenience. Like they're not interested in providing warranty work to a potentially dangerous situation. I have to contacted NCDOJ consumer division, The FTC, the NCDOT as thinking about possible legal counsel, if this matter is not resolved. Thanks in advance for your help. People need to be warned about quality issues with these vehicles. Some very major.

New Vehicle lost appx 3.5 qts of oil in appx 700 miles of driving, spraying undercarraige with oil, causing light smoke from striking exhaust, and leaving stains where parked. Appx 3oz of engine oil observed by me to accumulate in low area on top side of under engine front plastic fairing (I recommend a 1/4" drain hole in the low area to avoid accumulation of engine fluids in this area). Returned to Dealer for repair. Repair Diagnosis: Front seal engine oil leak (per dealer repair info, non specific). Front seal(s) replaced. Service agent stated she had seen this before with this particular engine (V6 Pentastar).

This is an issue with Chassis rigidity and a manufacturing defect. Causing windshield breakage due to torsional forces, chassis load and unload.  Here's my case: 2023 Dodge Challenger R/T - 5.7 / 6 speed manual. This car was purchased new [XXX], it's now broken two OEM Mopar windshields. First occurrence was [XXX] at 2,321 miles. This was warrantied by Dodge and replaced with a new Mopar windshield, [XXX]. Second occurrence was [XXX] at 6,446 miles. At this point in time, my car remains unfixed, undrivable, and has been undrivable since [XXX]. The selling Dealer, Airport Jeep in Platte City, Missouri, has been "working" with a local frame shop to obtain an appointment for a laser frame check. At this point, we've been without the usability of a car, yet still paying for it, for over 30 days. Please see attached images regarding my case, alone. With that being said, I'm also attaching owner commentary and images of other 2023 Challengers where this has occurred as well. The above, being said. This is clearly a chassis build / bonding issue at time of manufacturing, allowing these vehicles to flex and cause chassis popping / noises and windshield breakage. Youtube video references: [XXX] [XXX] The last 4 photos uploaded are from other various 2023 challangers all low miles from separate other owners. Vin numbers unknown. Mar 14, 2024Seats

The passenger side seat does not return to the "home" position when the "easy entry" handle is used to enter the rear seat from the door opening (the vehicle is a 2 door). Therefore, the seat slams into the knees of the passenger seated behind the passenger causing injury. Therefore, after the rear passenger enters, when the front passenger tries to return the seat to its starting position, the seat slides along the rails all the way till it hits the final stops. This happens regardless of the starting position of the seat along the rails. So, for example, if the seat is adjusted to be all the way forward, once the easy entry handle is used, the seat will slide all the way back on the rails and will lock in the final position. The only exception seems to be if the seat back is returned to its home position first, prior to sliding the seat back. Even in that case, the seat still slides back further than its initial home position. if passengers aren't careful, the vehicle begins to move before the seat is locked into position, and now, with the full weight of the front passenger, the seat slides back and crashes into the knees of the passenger causing injury.

Feb 4, 2024Brakes

I pulled car out of garage after a week and hear a pop. Drive had a severe wheel shudder after about a 1/4 mile returned to my house. Examined wheels the disc brake pads both sides had broke/crumbled and partially stuck in rotors. Pads are now crumbling. Car has 1200 miles bought new in August 2023. I never in my 46 years of driving and collecting cars saw anything like it. Went on Dodge forum and see similar complaints with pictures of exact same problem something is wrong and it is extremely dangerous given the weight and horsepower of these cars.

Feb 4, 2024Brakes

At less than 1000 miles on the odometer, my brakes were seizing up after the car was parked in the carport for a week without being driven. When I would go to back the car up, the brakes were stuck. After they popped loose and I started driving down the road we heard a clunking noise. Upon inspection, we noted that some of the front brake pad material [semi-metallics], both left and right, had broken off of the pad and adhered to the rotors. If I had continued driving the car like this, it would have etched a very large groove into the rotors. A brand new, very expensive car, should not experience issues like this. Had I needed to replace the rotors, it would have cost over $1000. We replaced the brake pads to ceramics to keep this from happening again. Since doing so, I have had no issues. I have been on forums and this is not a one-off. Others have experienced the same issue. The brake rotors themselves were rusty when I took receipt of the car after ordering it from a dealer.

It's not only related to my particular car. I moved to the US two years ago and was surprised how INSAINLY DANGEROUS driver side mirrors all of the American cars have. There is always a HUGE blind spot. People keep saying that if I adjust my mirrors properly there will be no problem, but it is not true. I've been driving for more than 10 years and now, at least once a week, I find myself in a dangerous situation. The bad thing is - it's is impossible to find a convex mirror as a replacement here. I can't believe that researches showed that the flat mirror is safer than the convex one (is there any research btw)? What's a point of installing flat mirrors on a driver's side? I went to a web forum and found this page: [XXX] (apparently form the UK) posted 2 pictures on 03/06/2023 with American's standard mirror and the convex one. Look at the difference. How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2023 Dodge Challenger Awd verdict →
