What 30 owners told NHTSA about the 2022 Lincoln Corsair Gas

The contact owns a 2022 Lincoln Corsair. The contact received notifications of NHTSA campaign numbers: 25V510000 (BACK OVER PREVENTION) and 26V123000 (BACK OVER PREVENTION). However, the parts to do the recall repairs were not yet available. The contact stated that while his wife was driving in reverse(R) the rearview camera would display a black screen and the alarm failed to function as intended. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, the rearview camera would display a distorted image while the vehicle was in reverse(R). The contact stated that the failure had obstructed the driver's visibility, which prevented the driver from safely operating the vehicle. Due to the failure, the contact's wife hit an unknown object. The contact stated that no injuries were reported. No police report was filed. The contact stated that the back light broke and the rear bumper was pushed inward. The vehicle was taken to a collision center. The vehicle was not repaired due to cost. The local dealer was not contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.

On February 5, 2026, the vehicle was involved in an accident in which the driver side was struck by another vehicle as it went through an intersection. The other vehicle was going approximately 40 mph when it impacted my vehicle. The driver side was impacted hard enough that the door would not open, yet none of the airbags went off. When the vehicle was towed to a collision repair center, the owner upon completing an estimate said he believed the airbags had malfunctioned, as the side airbags definitely should have gone off, and potentially the front ones should have, too. The vehicle is currently still at the collision center, but insurance has determined it to be a total loss and will be taking possession at some point in the near future.

While driving on [XXX] I was in traffic, Car ahead of me was 2 Car lengths ahead, emergency Brake slammed on! I had put my foot lightly on brake to slow down to keep safe distance! We were violently thrown forward( unexpected stoppage) . Car in back had to slam on its brakes and swerve off Road to keep from hitting us! This has happened about 4 times. I have taken Car to dealer and they keep saying there is nothing wrong with the Car! The Service guy who I am assigned to told me to cut off the Braking system. If it’s not safe why do the keep it on the Car and sell it! I am afraid to drive the Car for fear I will be killed or injure somebody else! The Service dept does not note what I brought Car in for on my service history, this is deceptive record keeping! The contact owns a 2022 Lincoln Corsair. The contact stated that while driving 76 MPH a loud booming sound suddenly occurred when the front section of the panoramic sunroof exploded and shattered. Moments later, the glass from the shattered sunroof fell into to vehicle hitting the driver. While attempting to prevent the glass from striking the head, the driver’s right hand and arm sustained lacerations and bruising from the falling shards of glass. The injuries did not require medical treatment. Additionally, the front driver’s side and passenger’s side seats were damaged by the falling glass. The contact indicated that no objects had struck the vehicle to cause the failure to occur. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 13,000.
