On 04/24/26 my 2022 Jeep 4xe with out any warning exploded in my driveway endangering my family and people in my neighborhood. Police and Fire were call and the vehicle was extinguished. No injuries occurred to anyone but toxic gas and exploding glass were blast through the neighborhood. If anyone had been any where around the car they would have been seriously injured. The fire department initial assessment was that the EV battery exploded. The battery on my Jeep was replaced along with other recall parts previously by our local jeep dealership. The Jeep was charged approximately 20min before explosion occurred but was unplugged at the time of explosion. My insurance company has possession of the vehicle at this time conducting its investigation. Video was captured of the incident from 2 different cameras. I am submitting this to hopefully make other 4xe owners aware of the situation even after we thought our recalls were taken care of. Please contact for further information.

I was involved in a collision. The front driver's side hit another car, causing a lot of damage. The surprise was the fire. There is no reason for it to have caught for the way it did. The door was jammed, so resorted to unhooking the soft top, while I caught fire. I opened the top and jumped off the top, crawling away with burns and cuts before the entire engine exploded. I could have still been in that car, and I don't think I would have made it.

I am filing this complaint regarding serious safety and consumer protection concerns involving my 2022 Jeep Wrangler (VIN: [XXX] ), manufactured by Stellantis, as well as issues involving the towing company E&R Towing following my accident. Prior to my accident on November 8, 2025, my vehicle experienced multiple ongoing mechanical issues, including overheating, shaking while driving, and abnormal loud noises. These issues raised serious safety concerns and were not properly resolved. On November 8, 2025, I was involved in a rollover accident. Following the accident, Stellantis initiated an investigation and retained Bosch/Engineering Analysis Associates to extract Event Data Recorder (EDR) data from my vehicle. While presented as an independent inspection, this analysis was conducted by a vendor hired by Stellantis, raising concerns about the objectivity and scope of the findings. Stellantis ultimately denied responsibility, stating that the conditions of the crash did not meet the threshold for airbag deployment. However, this conclusion fails to address the ongoing mechanical and safety issues I experienced prior to the accident, including the possibility of system or sensor malfunction. Additionally, my claim for relief under Illinois Lemon Law was denied without fully considering the pattern of defects and safety concerns. I have also filed a complaint with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Complaint #XXX, regarding safety concerns with this vehicle. Following the accident, my vehicle was handled by E&R Towing. I have concerns regarding how my vehicle was managed after the crash, including the handling process and lack of transparency regarding procedures and fees. I am requesting that this matter be reviewed for potential violations of Illinois consumer protection laws, including unfair or deceptive practices, failure to properly address known vehicle safety issues, and improper handling of my vehicle following acciden INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

While driving under normal conditions, the vehicle suddenly became unstable and difficult to control. Steering response was abnormal, and the vehicle did not behave as expected, creating a loss of stability and control. The incident occurred without warning and required the vehicle to be towed. This event raised serious safety concerns, as the vehicle appeared prone to instability and unsafe operation. The vehicle has a history of repeated mechanical and safety-related issues that were previously addressed through warranty service but not resolved. Despite prior repairs, the unsafe condition persisted and culminated in this incident. The manufacturer was notified of the ongoing defects and safety concerns but did not provide corrective resolution beyond referring the vehicle back to dealership service.

I purchased this Jeep 4xe in September 2025 and the dealer did not mention any recalls or safety concerns at the time of purchase nor did I receive any notification of a recall. My jeep battery caught on fire just like the recall states. Fortunately a neighbor saw the fire prior to it burning down my other jeep and barn.

I am submitting this supplemental statement regarding my previously filed complaint involving a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. On November 8, 2025, I was involved in a crash that resulted in bodily injury, including head, neck, and back pain, and required post-accident inspection and towing. Despite the nature of the impact and the injuries sustained, the frontal airbag system did not deploy. The manufacturer, Stellantis, conducted an inspection through a third-party contractor and advised via email that the airbag system did not deploy because the deceleration threshold was allegedly not met. However, I have not been provided with the Event Data Recorder (EDR) data, crash pulse analysis, sensor performance evaluation, or the technical criteria relied upon to reach this conclusion. Given the vehicle damage, injuries sustained, and non-deployment of the frontal airbags, I am concerned that the airbag system may not have functioned as intended or that the deployment thresholds, sensor inputs, or system calibration may be defective or unreasonable. I respectfully request that NHTSA review this incident for potential safety defects related to airbag non-deployment, crash detection thresholds, sensor performance, or system logic in the 2022 Jeep Wrangler.

I was pulling into a parking spot outside of a Costco and suddenly the car began to accelerate uncontrollably, and I couldn't stop the car. It ended up hitting the car in front of me, pushing it out of the spot and then hit the car next to us. Fortunately, there was no one in any of the cars hit but the entire experience was completely terrifying, and someone could have been seriously injured. The police were called and there was a police report filed. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer or insurance company since it just occurred yesterday and the police said that the report wouldn't be ready for 3-5 business days. We also contacted the dealership where we purchased the vehicle, and they advised us to contact Jeep's customer service.

Was driving to work and the car failed to let me know I was going to hit something and I swerved into another lane creating a crash into a telephone pole and then into a pond/swamp area. The airbags did not deploy and I was going about 40 mph I suffered neck back and bruises to my arms. I am suffering servers neck pain. The car filled with water. The car did say it detected a crash but no air bags deployed after the telephone being straight in the middle. The car was totaled. Nothing appeared. No warning signs. I believe the car has been taken to salvage. If I had the air bags go off I would not have been hurt as bad with my neck back and arm pain. It was thrown violently

I received a safety warning about my air bags specifically via my Jeep app on my iPhone about 1 1/2 hours after I had been rear-ended in a motor vehicle accident. The rear-end impact pushed me into a van in front of me. The safety notice notified me to take my 2022 Jeep in to have the air bags checked. There were no prior warnings. I am concerned as to whether or not the air bags should have employed upon impact. My seatbelt did totally lock into place after impact, but the air bags did not activate. My vehicle is currently still being repaired at a collision service, per the direction of my auto insurance carrier.

ON [XXX] My 2022 Jeep Wrangler Hybrid was parked in my carport. Around [XXX] I started smelling something burning so got up to check the house and then went to the garage to check our cars. On checking the Jeep I noticed that the inside of the cabin was filling with smoke. I immediately called 911 and as I was on the phone with them the Jeep spontaneously burst into flames on the inside. The Fire department arrived shortly after. They began flooding the jeep with water and had to drag it out of our car port. Once they had it away from the house the continued to flush it with water and also placed a fire retardant blanket over the top of it to contain the fire. It continued to burn for several more hours until a tow truck arrived to take it to a yard. The fire truck had to follow the Tow as the car was still smoldering as they loaded it. According to the fire marshals' initial assessment he believed the fire was started from the Jeeps Lithium Ion battery. * It is believed to be the Lithium Ion Battery. It has a recall and I had the recall scheduled for 1/9/2025 but it caught fire on [XXX]. The Jeep is with Progressive my insurance company and could possibly be inspected at request. * Luckily we caught it before it was fully engulfed. Jeep did emit noxious fumes while it was on fire and being put out. Our neighbor had to evacuate because of the fumes possibly entering her house. * It has been confirmed by Progressive and they have placed Jeep on notice. * It was inspected by the Ins Co. They are awaiting on the inspector from Jeep. * There were no warning or indications prior to this happening. On [XXX] I bought a 2022 Jeep wrangler 392 from Ron Tonkin Jeep in Milwaukie, OR. It was certified pre owned and still under full manufacturer warranty. I drove the car for one day then parked it at Portland airport before flying to Chicago. A week later while still out of town, I received a call from the parking lot manager that my car spontaneously caught on fire last night and violently burned also damaging 3 cars near it. The fire department came and put out the fire and said the fire was caused by “mechanical failure, malfunction”. Jeep has refused to cover this claim because they said the cause of the fire cannot be determined. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I have a 2022 Wrangler 4xe. This weekend I rear ended a car in stop and go traffic. When I used the brake it actually felt like the car jumped forward a bit. I had to stomp on the brake pedal again as if my first attempt had no grab. More details...I was in hybrid mode with <1% battery status and max regen was on. I was going less than 10 miles an hour. Jeep has a max regeneration function that uses the engine to generate an EV battery recharge. I understand that the max regen sort of turns off when you are rolling at really low speeds, but it seems the transition to/from this is rough on the transmission or something. This only happens at low speeds (in parking lots, etc) This behavior happens intermittently but, this is the first time I was not able to stop completely before an impact occured.

I was stopped at a red light with my foot on the brake, and had been for at least 30 seconds. The jeep all the sudden revved and started moving forward. I continued to push on the brake but the jeep didn't stop. I attempted to turn the jeep to the right to avoid the car in front of me, but was unable and slammed into the back of the car. Despite my foot being on the brake the jeep continued to rev even after I hit the car. I put the jeep in park and it stopped revving. A police report was filed. There was damage caused to the car in front of me. The jeep has not been able to be taken to the dealership yet for inspection.

The vehicle is a 2022 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited 4xe. On August 12, 2023, I was pulling into a parking space in a fairly small parking lot and the vehicle took off. The breaks were applied and the vehicle kept going. It actually hopped one of the vertical concrete barriers. After all said and done, the vehicle entered the building and destroyed this business. Thank God, no one was hurt. It could have been worse. After the vehicle crashed inside the building, it could not move anymore, and was turned off. Police report forthcoming.

Jan/2023 at 55mph, a vehicle swerved into my lane which required immediate braking. Applying the brake, the Jeep engine surged, and Jeep would not slow down. I reapplied brake and initially it didn't slow my vehicle. After re-reapplying the brakes, the Jeep responded to the braking. The Wrangler accelerated while doing regenerative braking or while my foot was on the brake. This caused it to hit a building. It is available for inspection. My safety and my child's safety was put at risk when contact was made with a building. Those inside the building were also at risk. The problem has not been reproduced yet as the incident just happened. The vehicle was towed to a dealer. Insurance will be inspecting. Police were called to scene of accident. I will file a claim with Jeep as well. I was running it in full electric mode and I don't remember any issues. The vehicle was just re wired as well.
