The vehicle will sometimes brake even though no obstacle is present. This has occurred at highway speeds. The sudden brake event is jarring, and could cause me to be involved in a collision. The vehicle is relatively new, and covered by a factory warranty. I described the problem to the dealer's service department. The service department representative said he would not be able to repair the problem unless he could replicate it. The problem is intermittent, and is unlikely to be replicated. This means that the problem will likely remain unrepaired and dangerous.

Metal part of Rear upper and control arm bushings get rusty, they may come off the main piece and cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle and cause an accident. I have just put 25,000 miles on my Accord. Bought it a year ago.

I was driving approximately 30 miles an hour with my foot on the accelerator when the automatic braking stoped the car dead. The automatic brake message flashed on the dashboard at that time. There were no cars or anything in front of me on the road. I was then rear ended by the car behind me. The car was taken to a collision shop, and there was a scan done on the car. There have been no other inspections of the cars braking system as far as I know. The problem was reported to my insurance company, Geico. The problem was reported to the police officer responding to the scene of the accident and the collision/towing company.

This occurred twice both happened on the highway going 65 mph. I accelerated as usual, suddenly the check engine light began blinking and I lost the ability to accelerate (limp mode). The car instantly dropped to 20 mph. After a minute, the check engine blinking light went away. Both times I was luckily able to get off of the highway going 20 mph. The first occurrence, I turned the car off for 30 minutes. After turning back on, car was fine as if nothing happened. The second occurrence, after calling Honda they recommended towing to dealership, which I did. At my dealership, they drove a lot, but could not duplicate issue. However, there was code DTC P0304 misfire. From the dealer paperwork "cylinder 4 swap spark plugs to known working plug misfire gone recommend replacing all plug random misfire. Removed and replaced all spark plugs." Since this repair two weeks ago, I have not had any issues and the acceleration feels less sluggish than before. This is a VERY serious issue that could result in injury or death if it occurs to others!

- The vehicle had loose front suspensions from the manufacturer on a brand new 2022 Honda Accord - This was a major safety concern due to driving the vehicle on the free way and could have caused death. - The problem was addressed by dealership and took it in for repair. - Yes vehicle was inspected by an Authorized Honda service facility. - No warning notifications popped up, I started hear ticking noise when turning the steering wheel in both directions which prompted me to having an issue. This happened about 6 months for the date of purchase/lease.

I was driving down the interstate with my cruise control on. It was set to 75 mph. The vehicle began to speed up on it's own. We reached 86/87 mph when I turned off the cruise control but the vehicle was still accelerating. We reached ~95mph, I was slightly applying brake pressure and this slowed down the rate of acceleration but did not stop it. I tried shifting to neutral but the car didn't respond. We reached a little over ~100mph and the car finally stop accelerating. The whole event lasted ~30 seconds to 1 minute.

The Collision Mitigation Braking System is overly sensitive, aggressive, unpredictable and sometimes erratic causing extremely dangerous situations including almost causing traffic accidents due to unwarranted locking up of brakes sometimes on the freeway at very dangerous highway speeds. I've had about 5 scenarios where the system has terrified me by applying heavy stopping power in a dangerous and unexpected manner in situations where I would never apply the brakes! One of the occasions was on a 35mph roadway that had a small dip hardly anything, with no cars, pedestrians in front of me SLAMMED the brakes aggressively for 0 reason and with nothing in front of the car but a slight dip in the road. Another occasion was on a freeway at freeway speeds where the car dangerously slammed on the brakes causing unexpected and abrupt loss of speed which WOULD HAVE resulted in a car behind me rear-ending my vehicle, in this case luckily no vehicle was directly behind me in this instance, but in the future this can cause an accident and put myself and others at risk. This vehicle is brand new, less than 3,000 miles. I've contacted Honda Corporate who directed me to a Honda Dealer which they seemed to advise I will be out of pocket for a diagnosis fee for, on a car that randomly and unexpectedly SLAMS ON BRAKES. This is unacceptable, the system automatically turns back on as soon as the vehicle starts up, there's no way to permanently deactivate this dangerous feature. This needs to be resolved immediately!!!

The contact leased a 2022 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at slow speeds in a parking garage, the vehicle struck the curb and independently accelerated. The contact was unable to control the vehicle. The contact attempted to shift gear, but the vehicle failed to respond. The vehicle then came to a stop, avoiding a crash. The contact restarted the vehicle and drove to his residence. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact called an unknown local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to an auto body shop. The failure mileage was approximately 1,700. The VIN was not available.

I was using cruise control on high speed road. I depressed brake and turned onto a slower road. I continued for about a hundred yards and when I tried to come to a full stop by depressing the brake the car seemed to be trying to accelerate and I was barely able to bring the car to a stop. As I stopped the engine cut off. A similar incident occurred the day before. I took car to dealer and after checking for two days they were unable to reproduce the problem.

The carplay keeps freezing, which causes a safety issue when attempting to fix the problem. For instance, the carplay froze while traveling long distances. I did not notice it stopped working and kept driving, assuming the exit was further away. Once I briefly looked again at the highway, I realized it was frozen, and I had to go to the shoulder of the road to restart the car play. I leased the car on 1/7/2023, and my carplay has frozen over seven times in 3 months. It causes a safety issue because I have to go on the shoulder of the highway, which leads to a random place (once in a hazardous area), and causes me to keep restarting the system and car.

Mar 23, 2023Lane DepartureDriver assistance

About three weeks into car ownership while drivng on the highway during the day, I changed lanes and the brakes engaged suddenly for about 2 seconds. No one was behind me or in front of me. No cars or obstacles. I took it into the dealership the next day. They tested it and found nothing wrong. About a month later it happended again while driving on the highway with no cars or obsticals in front me. changing lanes and the car braked for a period of 1 second. It happened again about 10 minutes later but this time braked for 2 seconds and if someone was behind me, it may have casued an accident. Then a week later on the highway, it happened a third time taking an offramp. I took it to the dealership that day and they kept it overnight and found nothing wrong the next day. I am escalting it to the dealership management.

In more than a couple of instances the vehicle has miscalculated the need for emergency braking causing the vehicle to suddenly brake in traffic and also when the lane keeping assist system was activated, in which no braking was necessary and no vehicle or pedestrian was nearby at all. There has not been any accident as of yet, but the possibility of incident is there. This has been happening since the vehicle was acquired.

I purchased a new 2022 Honda Accord EX-L back in March. Twice I've had something happen while driving. Yesterday it was snowing quite hard and getting slick. So on the way home I was merging onto the freeway and gradually speeding up. Suddenly the car braked hard for about a second as if I was coming up on someone too fast. There was no one in front of me, and fortunately the person behind me wasn't close enough that I got rear ended. Obviously the radar sensor thought I was about to hit a car immediately in front of me--a car that wasn't there. I've been in touch with the dealer where I purchased the car. I see that there was a recall on the 2018-2019 Accords for this very thing. I seem to remember that the other time it happened it may have been raining, but I can't remember for sure. In that case the car didn't brake as hard as this time. This time it actually threw me forward, and fortunately my tires managed to grip the snowy pavement.

The Collision Mitigation Braking System malfunctioned The Brake warning light appeared and the car started braking and the car started jerking..it is a safety risk ....no one was around but if there was a car in back of me there would have been a collision hazard. This happened twice I brought the car to the Dealership to be inspected They did an advanced diagnostic of the system and made sure no codes were stored in the PCM. I was told they could not find anything and they were working with Hondas Engineers about this problem. They said they could not release the vehicle until they had answer as it was a safety issue. Their conclusion was debris from he sensors...and it could happen again if a bug or rock it the sensor areas I also reported it to Honda Motor Co. case #13364245

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2022 Honda Accord Plug In Hybrid verdict →
