2022 BMW 430i xDrive Rear Differential leak and required complete replacement. My vehicle had less than 69,000 miles at the time and my mechanic stated that this was the second 2022 BMW that had to have a differential replaced. This issue was first confirmed by the BMW dealership December 2025 but my vehicle's warranty just expired (less than 500 miles over the warranty). The mechanic mentioned that it's highly unusual to need a differential replaced. They usually last the lifetime of the vehicle especially with my car being a 2022.

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2022 BMW 4 Series Gran verdict →
