My Mercedes has the automatic doors that close. I was closing the driver door with my back to the door and felt my thumb get caught in the drivers door. I attempted to remove it but, could not remove it. I had to watch the door slowly close and seal/crush with my finger smashed within the door. My wife helped me open the door and the top of my finger was smashed, as my wife said, like [XXX]. I went to the emergency room in St Petersburg Florida and as diagnosed with an acute non-displaced fracture through the distal phalanx of the first digit.
