The contact owned a 2021 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated that while driving on the highway at 25 MPH when another vehicle crashed into the rear at an unknown high rate of speed. The passenger side bumper edge was damaged as well as the rear passenger side door. The contact vehicle was propelled 6 meters forward as a result of the crash. The air bags did not deploy. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer, where the vehicle was diagnosed and the contact was advised that the vehicle was a total loss. No warning lights had illuminated. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The contact was the only individual present and injured in the vehicle, she was seated in the driver's seat. There were no other injuries reported. The contact received injuries to her back, neck, and foot that required medical attention. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V510000 (AIR BAGS, SEAT BELT). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 21,500.

On [XXX] my 2021 Jeep Renegade 4x4 VIN [XXX] was struck from the rear by another vehicle. My vehicle was stopped at a traffic light in Columbus, Ohio. My vehicles air bags did not deploy. The other vehicles air bags did deploy. The Sheriff Office did make mention of this during the traffic Report writing process. (REF: Traffic Accident Report #[XXX]: Franklin County Ohio Sheriff Office) . The driver, myself sustained injuries. Medical intervention was sought. Casualty Insurance Claim was filed. Vehicle repairs were performed. No warning lamps. messages or other symptoms occurred related to the air bags prior to or subsequent to this accident. Not until Owner, myself received the Safety Recall Notice 82B/NHTSA 24V-510 on 08/31/2024 was I made aware of any defect related to the motor vehicles safety, malfunctioning, or non-functioning. Given the event and the related non-deployment of the air bags, injuries sustained and which appears to be consistent with this Safety Recall Notice I would like this to go on record.
