The contact owns a 2020 Chevrolet Camaro. The contact stated that while driving 65 MPH and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle vibrated, jerked, and made abnormal whining and metallic sounds. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact pulled over to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to a Toyota dealer, where it was diagnosed, and the failure was associated with NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V148000 (Power Train). The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then taken to Starling GMC Titusville(1350 S Washington Ave, Titusville, FL 32780), where it was diagnosed. The dealer determined that the engine and the drive belt needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? - the car itself stopped as I was driving up a hill. The car would not accelerate and while in Drive, the car began to roll backwards. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? - as I the car stopped accelerating, I was at a red light with other cars present. I have to put my car in park and have my emergency brakes. Luckily the car did not ram into me and luckily I did not ram into the other car due to the car rolling backwards. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? - yes the transmission needs replace. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? - it has been inspected by my local dealership (not at the dealership that the car was previously bought from) Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? - no

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2020 Chevrolet Camaro With Recaro verdict →
