Whenever the outside temperature reached 85 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, all computer systems and electrical functions would shut off. If I was driving at the time, the engine would continue to run, but I wouldn't be able to use even the most basic functions -- blinkers, hazard lights, radio, air conditioning -- and all the gauges on the dashboard -- speedometer, gas gauge, etc. -- would stop working, creating a dangerous driving experience. If the car was already parked, or I came to a stop, the ignition would flutter and then shut off as soon as it was put into gear. And only start working again after the car had cooled down, oftentimes by having to dump cold water on the vehicle, or by parking it in the shade for an extended period of time.

I was driving the vehicle late at night, absolutely no traffic in the area. I love in South Dakota so it was cold. I turned on the rear defrost and after only a minute of having it on, the entire back windshield burst out of the car. No rocks, no traffic no people. There was a loud bang and the entire window blew out of the vehicle

I have already submitted a complaint but today I am submitting another one because I see the vw 2019 jetta recall for ignition switch does not yet have a remedy and today I experienced my engine stalled and the engine light is currently on. This recall increases the risk of crashing which can cause harm and poses a threat to overall safety. A solution needs to be made as I have work and school and overall errands and now am worried about driving a vehicle with a life threatening recall

The recall was in August 2023. I was told the part was not in yet. I recently tried again. Still no part in and it’s going on November 2023. I have gotten the run around, my calls go unanswered, no one available to talk to. No one knows what’s going on with this recall from the dealer service supervisor to VW recall to VW customer service.

Both times the shut down occurred it was over 80 degrees in the car at least. At least a week ago and then yesterday October 22nd. The car would start like normal but a few seconds later it would say "Please check the starter system" and then all the electricals would go out no ac, nothing on the dash, all the speedometers down to 0, but the car would still be running. But if you were to cut the car off you would just get the starter system message and it wont turn back on. The first time I took it to a mechanic and they couldn't find anything wrong, the next day I took it to VW and they also couldn't find anything in their inspection. I see the recall #23v604 and it sounds pretty similar to what's happening.

My 2019 VW Jetta runs well, but recently there are two safety incidents cause my deep safety concerns. 1)9/20/2023 around 12:15 pm, I parked my VW Jetta in front of Wells Fargo. When I put shifter in reverse, tried to backwards out of the parking lot, suddenly the car lost control and kept rolling forward, there was a deep ditch in front of my car, but the car kept rolling forward. I was very scared. I drove the Jetta to nearby VW Princeton and asked a technician to check the Jetta and find out the system defects, but the technician scanned the Jetta and couldn't find any problems, then suggested to schedule an in depth diagnostics into the Jetta to address my incident. 2) 9/26/2023, around 9:00 pm, I was entering a gate, entered the code, suddenly my car couldn't go forward or backwards, the engine stopped working, the car screen then showed: "Please manually start the engine." After I turn off and then turn back the key again, the engine started. I have texted the Service Advisor at VW Princeton about the new insident today. I would like to report the above two incidents to NHTSA for investigation. Thank you!

On hot days, has happened multiple times. At parking lot, car did not turn on first two attempts, finally when on, then electrical shuts off. Starter system faulty message service vehicle. Stuck key in and out, several attempts: Got car to turn on. Moved it to shade as electrical shut off. Once cooled turn back on. Other instance, while driving on highway the dasboard, gauges, electronics info system shut off. AC and Engine remained on. No turn signals availability. Happened during day time; I assume brake lights not working either. Pulled over, called dealer, said it's safety feature Temp Sensor when its hot outside car will shut off. Issue for months now. Prior to this P Position message yellow triangle exclamation point. Shifter moved bach and forth along with turning key ignition several time ( cooler weather period). May or may not be related. Service engine soon pops up. The Car always has oil changes, antifreeze, and filters up to date. Car has new battery. Alternator is working properly. No indication its the starter. Still having issue. I had car towed to VW dealership as I read about recall. Misunderstanding, they will not work on it as recall is not active. Key Ignition Switch: no solution status. I had car towed because the associate at VW stated it would be worked on and recall set for October 2023 to be honored. The solution is not to have car remain in shade, or wait for recall to be active. VW must be awareof issue: temp senor, ignition key switch/system and possible shifter. Not safe to at all. Cars can hit you during this event with no brakes, sometimes shuuting off or be left stranded.
