Backing out of garage to driveway just a few feet. Car suddenly accelerated on its own to a very high speed in Reverse. Knocked down a tree and busted through the neighbor's garage wall. Attempted to pump brakes but it did not help one bit. My safety was at risk and luckily I was not hurt. Luckily there was no one in the alley or at my neighbor's driveway or garage. People could have been killed based on how fast the car suddenly accelerated. No warning lights were on prior to the incident. Nothing to indicate there was a problem with the car. When the car stopped as a result of hitting the garage wall, it was still in reverse. There is $20k damage to my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The collision company said they will make sure its safe to drive but I'm not sure if it should be inspected elsewhere. I will contact a dealer to inspect after collision company releases the car. How am I to drive this car again not knowing if this could happen again and potentially result in death of someone? The car is certainly available for inspection.

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Srt verdict →
