The starter was having trouble igniting the engine upon startup. The engine would crank but would not finish with starting up. I did this three or four times. Upon removing the key from the ignition and putting it back in the ignition and starting it up the car started up normally. The issue seems to be with either the ignition system or fuel system, which is available for inspection upon request. The car could suddenly stop without warning on the road and endanger the safety of myself or other drivers. The problem was previously acknowledged by NHTSA in two separate campaign numbers in May 2020 (20V314000) and March 2021 (21V215000) and this particular Civic was serviced in 2021in accordance with that recall and confirmed by the dealer. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure.

1.The Automatic Breaking System malfunctioned, and is available for inspection upon request. 2. Safety was at risk because in March 2020, the car stopped itself on North Carolina route 70 in the middle of traffic without warning and without cause/reason. 3. Dealership inspected the system on April 1st, 2021 and found no issue. They told me to manually turn off the system every time I start the car. 4. No, the car was not inspected for the ABS by the manufacturer, police, insurance, or anyone else. 5.No warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms were on. Finding this article has prompted me to pursue the problem again. https://myfox8.com/news/money-matters/over-1-7m-hondas-investigated-for-unexpected-automatic-braking/?utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=socialflow&utm_source=facebook.com&fbclid=IwAR3h1YQ5WtFCpKL7VaZ4jB2gP4TmhAukrSG72UX_7pLXQF7XN4bMQIWITDc

The vehicle's automatic braking function activates for no reason. Should only function if it detects objects in it's path which driver not reacting to. It has happened multiple times at both freeway speed as well as city speed. Mostly happens quick, applying slight brake with "brake" light illuminating on dash then quits. Scared it will apply full braking at some point. I know you are claiming occurs on Accords and CR-V but mine being a Civic it is happening to me also. Please address this and require Honda to fix this FAST!

Intermittently the car will stall out when parked idling and then won’t restart for a few minutes after turning off. It acts as if it ran out of gas. The gas gauge is always at different levels when it happens. We have taken it to the dealer multiple times with no fix.

I have been experiencing some rickety, creaking sound on my steering wheel coming from the SRS module for the past month. I've taken the car to the dealer 5 times and they did some work and on my last visit, they decide to replace the airbag module but still up to now the problem persists. I think this is a safety problem that needs to be dealt with before somebody gets hurt.

I took my car in for servicing May 2021. When i was there The Coral Springs Honda dealer informed me that they ordered my parts for my cars recall. I called them in July to check on the status after failing to hear from them and they said they did not have the part. So now it is September and i am still here with a possibly faulty Fuel pump. I want this recall situated.

2019 Honda Civic EX was running normally. Next day I start it up and nearly every warning light on the dash illuminates—no power steering, lane assist, adaptive cruise control, braking system, and more. Car is not drivable. At 39K miles Honda says it’s out of warranty.

I was driving my Honda Civic 2019 in the freeway- car pool lane. All of a sudden, without any warning light or symptoms, my car engine just stalled. I immediately switched on the emergency light and put the car in neutral gear and somehow made sure the cars behind me were aware that I am stalled. Luckily no crash/incident, but I was stuck in car pool lane still at the risk of car pile up accident. I called 911 and a cop showed in the next 5 minutes. He stopped all cars in all lanes and pushed my car gently over shoulder. Those 5 minutes was very risky and the scariest spot where me and wife were sitting in the car in the car pool lane while cars behind us were dodging us to avoid crash. Now, Honda is saying this may be fuel pump problem and when I checked my VIN in NHTSA, it has the incomplete recall for fuel pump. I wanted the concerned authorities to take action over Honda to recall all cars with this issue to replace fuel pumps immediately to avoid any crashes.

I had purchased this vehicle on may 27th 2021. On june 10th 2021 the transmission blew out (the car only has 11,992 miles). Even though i was able to purchase an extended warranty it appears that due to a code stored from the previous owner on november 2020 (P0219 engine overrev). The factory warranty is voided. This is unsafe to the consumer as the actual code is a private honda dealership secret, and i had zero way of seeing this code. It was not on carfax and dealerships won’t share information about a vehicle if you were not the owner at the time.

The power steering didn't work. There were warning messages displayed for Tire Pressure Monitor Problem, Adaptive Cruise Control Problem, Lane Keeping Assist Problem, Brake System Problem, Brake Hold System Problem, Power Steering System (EPS) Problem, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) Problem, Hill Start Assist Problem, Collision Mitigation System Problem, Road Departure Mitigation System Problem when turning the car on. This condition was verified by the dealer on both occurrences. First occurrence was 6/8/21. It was towed to Spreen Honda dealer in Corona, CA. According to the the first invoice dated 6/8/21 for the repair there was "Confirmed fault code for C1420 main torque sensor and sub torque sensor, C1421-14 malfunction to steering angle, confirmed multiple fault codes due to rodent damage to the steering system sub harness chewed thru replaced the steering torque sensor sub harness and calibrated the steering angle sensor, cleared fault code now OK." Same problem occurred 7/8/2021. Taken to Spreen Honda again on 7/9/21. Wire harness again replaced, steering angle sensor replaced and power steering calibration performed. I have the wire harness that was replaced. Service advisor stated this is a problem with Honda wire harnesses because the insulation on the wires is soy based. He has seen it many times, including one customer at Riverside dealer who had rodents eat his wire harness four times while he was working there. Not having operational power steering makes driving the vehicle very difficult and potentially dangerous.

I I brought my car into Morehead Honda the dealer I purchased my vehicle from to get service because the car was acting funny. I then find out I had my car has a recall car with my car for the fuel pump. It was change the fuel pump I went home and a few days later I was stuck on the highway my car just shut down in the middle of the highway. My car was towed back to the dealership they found out there was something wrong with the fuel pump said they fixed it it was an error on their behalf. I returned several times after that because the fuel gauge is reading inaccurately. Dealer is unable to tell me what’s wrong. I fill up my car is giving me different readings my car normally falls up to 300+ close to 400 every time I fill up my car and now it’s reads 191, 150 or 140 when I fill up my car. I continue calling to dealership I am not getting a response. I need help with this it’s a safety issue.

The TPMS Sensor keeps turning ON since we bought this vehicle brand new from Lia Honda of Kingston. The problem was reported to American Honda (Case # 11487126). Per their (Honda) advice, the vehicle was brought into the Honda dealership (Lia Honda of Albany and Keeler Honda in Latham) to diagnose this issue. Still, the service technicians were unable to identify the root cause of this issue. The readings from tire pressure for all tires showed no sign of leakage or low tire pressure. The ratings were taken at different intervals and showed the normal tire pressure readings. The issue still exists, and American Honda has not shown any interest in correcting this problem. The vehicle has roughly 7K miles and is still under full factory warranty. Thank you in advance for looking into this matter. -Shakti Chauhan

I accelerated into a driveway of a convenience store and as I was halfway through the driveway my gas pedal became unresponsive and would not accelerate. Car started rolling back into traffic. 2 weeks later my pedal became unresponsive on the freeway. I exited and immediately called thd dealer because i had already taken it to get checked out after the first incident and they basically said nothing can be done but to trade it in since the mechanic had already said there was nothing wrong.

The engine heat plate has fallen off twice during normal highway travel and dragging on the road causing sparks making my vehicle unsafe and unable to drive. The first time I paid to have it repaired. Now that this has happened for the 2nd time, I feel this is going to be an ongoing issue. The first incident happened in April of last year.

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story.
