THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO NISSAN CITY (225 BOSTON POST RD, PORT CHESTER, NY 10573, (914) 937-1777) THREE SEPARATE TIMES, BUT WAS UNABLE TO FIND ANY FAILURES. ALSO, WHEN THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS ADJUSTED, THE VEHICLE WOULD PERFORM THE OPPOSITE OF THE REQUESTED FUNCTION. WHEN THE HAZARD LIGHTS WERE ENGAGED, IT DISABLED THE SPEEDOMETER; THEREFORE, THE CONTACT DID NOT KNOW THE SPEED BEING TRAVELED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT ASSIST. AFTER THE THIRD VISIT TO THE DEALER, THE MANUFACTURER LAUNCHED A NEW INVESTIGATION AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD CALL THE CONTACT BACK WITH THE RESULTS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,500.

I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT TO LOCAL MECHANIC WHO RAN DIAGNOSTICS AND STATED THERE WERE TOO MANY CODES REGARDING THE ELECTRIC SYSTEM AND RECOMMENDED I TAKE IT TO DEALERSHIP. TOOK IT TO LOCAL DEALER, DIAGNOSTICS WERE RUN AGAIN, AND THEY REPORTED THEY WERE NOT SURE OF THE ISSUE, SUSPECTED DAMAGE TO THE MAF SENSOR (WHICH WAS THEN THROWING OFF THE REPORT OF ALL OTHER SENSORS). THEY REPLACED IT WITH NISSAN MANUFACTURED PART AND ELECTRIC TAPE AND I WAS TOLD IT WAS GOOD TO GO. 2ND TIME - STATIONARY MAKING A LEFT ONTO BUSY MAIN STREET, CAR SHUDDERED, STALLED, NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMPLETELY STOPPED. UNABLE TO DRIVE IT, WHEN CHANGING GEARS IT JUST COASTED BACKWARDS (DUE TO THE HILL I WAS ON). HAD IT TOWED TO THE SAME DEALER, TOLD THE SAME THING AS PREVIOUS VISIT 'NOT SURE WHAT'S WRONG, PROBABLY THE SENSOR,' WAS TOLD THEY REPLACED IT AGAIN WITH NISSAN MANUFACTURED PART AND 'TAPED UP REAL GOOD THIS TIME.' HOWEVER COULD NOT GUARANTEE IT WOULDN'T HAPPEN AGAIN, ALSO STILL NO IDEA WHAT EXACTLY CAUSED THE STALLING. 3RD TIME- DRIVING STRAIGHT AFTER BEING STOPPED AT RES LIGHT, CAR STALLS, ENGINE LIGHT BACK ON, AND UNABLE TO DRIVE IT. THE CAR COASTED TO THE NEAREST SHOULDER AND NOW WAITING FOR A TOW TRUCK TO TAKE ME TO A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP, WHOM HOPEFULLY CAN FIX THE PROBLEM THAT CONTINUES TO HAPPEN.

DEALERSHIP CLAIMED IT WAS THE SENSOR THE FIRST TIME & SWITCHED IT. HAPPENED SECOND TIME TODAY & ALMOST CAUSED MULTIPLE FATAL WRECKS. BOTH TIMES ON BUSY ROADS & THIS TIME EXITING A BRIDGE INTO ON COMING TRAFFIC AND MULTIPLE LANES. I'M SCARED TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE. BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW. FIST COUPLE MONTHS HAD SENT VIDEO AND REPORTED ON 3 OCCASIONS WHERE THE RADIO SCREEN WAS ALSO DEFECTIVE AND THEY REPLACED IT. ON BOTH OCCASIONS THIS HAS BEEN TRAUMATIZING AND JUST LOOKING AT THE COMPUTER IS NOT ENOUGH! I PUT DOWN $8K AND TRADED IN A VEHICLE TO BUY MY FIRST NEW CAR, ONLY FOR IT TO BECOME A DEATH TRAP!

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED TO SHUT OFF THE SYSTEM WHEN APPROACHING THAT PORTION OF THE ROAD AND THEN TURN IT ON AGAIN AFTERWARDS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE ONLY OCCURRED ALONG THAT PORTION OF THE ROAD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE DEALER OFFERED NO OTHER SUGGESTIONS FOR THE REPAIR AND DID NOT DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000.

I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM FOR A YEAR AND A HALF. TO REMEDY THE SITUATION I HAVE TURNED OFF THE AUTOMATIC BRAKING FEATURE OFF, SINCE IT DOES NOT WORK. AND ON THE CONTRARY IT ACTUALLY MAKES THE SUV FEEL MORE UNSAFE.

SO I MENTIONED IT AND THE 'ADVISORY' CARD I RECEIVED FROM NISSAN WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN FOR THE 15K OIL CHANGE. THE DEALER TOLD ME THEY DID A SW UPGRADE AND ALL WAS WELL. DRIVING THE CAR THE NEXT DAY AND THE POWER STEERING WAS OUT (WARNING LIGHT ON), AEB WARNING LIGHT ON AND THE CLIMATE CONTROL WAS COMPLETELY BLACK. TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHERE IT HAS BEEN FOR OVER TWO WEEKS NOW. THEY SAID THEY HAVE TRIED NEW COMPUTER MODULES, BUT CANNOT SEEM TO GET IT RESOLVED. THE ELECTRONICS NEVER SEEMED RIGHT WITH THIS VEHICLE AND I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF IT NOW.

IT BREAKED ON ITS OWN AND THERE WERE NO ACTIVE VEHICLES PULLING OUT FOR IT TO DO THAT. IT DID IT 3 TIMES ON 3 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS BUT THE LAST ONE SCARED ME BECAUSE I DID HAVE VEHICLES BEHIND AND I WOULD HAVE BEEN HIT, IT WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN THEIR FAULT IF MY CAR WAS ACTING UP AS SUCH. THEN A WEEK LATER I HAD RANDOM LIGHTS ON MY DASHBOARD TURN ON WITH NO REASON TO LIGHT UP, ALL THIS WHILE DRIVING A REGULAR 40 MPH ROAD, I HAD IN ONE DAY THE COLLISION LIGHT, THE ABS AND THE ! TURN ON AT DIFFERENT TIMES. SO I TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP ON 5-20-19 ONLY FOR THEM TO UPDATE AND RESET AGAIN. MY CAR IS TOO NEW TO BE DOING THAT.

IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED AND SET AT 55 MPH, THE SPEED WOULD INCREASE ON ITS OWN WHILE DRIVING ON A CURVED ROAD. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES WAS NOT DETERMINED. IT INTERMITTENTLY AND FOR NO APPARENT REASON REBOOTS BY ITSELF ON AND OFF - CONSTANTLY AFTER THE ROGUE HAS BEEN STARTED. IT FACTORY RESETS ITSELF AS MANY AS 25 TIMES IN A 10 MILE DRIVE. SEVERAL OF THOSE 25 REBOOTS MY RADIO WILL TURN ITSELF BACK ON AT AN EXTREMELY LOUD VOLUME, STARTLING ME WHILE I'M DRIVING. THAT IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE! THE BACK-UP CAMERA STILL WORKS MOST OF THE TIME, BUT NOT ALL THE TIME. I'M CURRENTLY WAITING A FULL 19 DAYS WHILE THIS REPLACEMENT PART IS ON BACKORDER FROM NISSAN. AND I'M DRIVING THE ROGUE WITH THE STARTLING, BLARING AUDIO IN THIS CONDITION THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE WAIT. NISSAN NORTH AM WON'T APPROVE A LOANER THRU MY DEALER BECAUSE MY CAR IS STILL "DRIVABLE". NISSAN JUST RELEASED A CUSTOMER INITIATIVE LETTER PERTAINING TO THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM THAT STATES THE SYSTEM MAY ACTIVATE ON ITS OWN CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STOP SUDDENLY. NISSAN APPARENTLY HAS A FIX FOR IT BUT IT HAS TO HAPPEN FIRST. THIS SYSTEM ALREADY HAD A PROGRAM UPDATE APPLIED TO IT AND THE SYSTEM STILL DEACTIVATED ITSELF AFTER DRIVING. THERE HAVE BEEN A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS SYSTEM AND IT IS STILL NOT FIXED. *DT MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED.*JB

THIS VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH A FRONT RADAR SYSTEM WHICH WILL APPLY EMERGENCY BREAKING IF OBJECTS ARE SENSED TO BE IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WHILE IT'S IN MOTION. ON JAN 29, 2019, MY VEHICLE ENGAGED EMERGENCY BRAKING WHILE I WAS CROSSING A RAILROAD CROSSING ON A ROUGH CITY STREET. THE VEHICLE BEGAN BEEPING, CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP, THE BRAKE PEDAL AUTOMATICALLY PRESSED ALL THE WAY DOWN, AND WOULD NOT DRIVE UNTIL I PRESSED THE BRAKE. THIS LEFT ME SITTING ON AN ACTIVE RAIL CROSSING WITH A VEHICLE COMING UP BEHIND ME. THIS SIMILAR SITUATION HAS HAPPENED TO ME SEVERAL OTHER TIMES WHILE CROSSING UNDER BRIDGES AND ENTERING PARKING GARAGES BUT IN THOSE CASES, ONLY LIGHT BRAKING OCCURRED AND I WAS ABLE TO PROCEED WITHOUT NEEDING TO PRESS THE BRAKE.

WHILE DRIVING, THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM DASH LIGHT FLASHES. NISSAN SUGGESTS THE ISSUE IS DUE TO FROST. THE RADAR SENSOR IS LOCATED BEHIND THE FRONT GRILLE EMBLEM AND MAY BE BLOCKED DUE TO FROST BUILD UP. NISSAN CLAIMS THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE, AND THERE IS NO FIX. HOW CAN A VEHICLE'S BRAKING SYSTEM BE UNAVAILABLE, YET THERE IS NO ISSUE? THE ISSUE SHOULD BE RECALLED. PERHAPS RELOCATE THE SENSOR. ALSO, IF IT IS IN FACT DUE TO A FROSTY EMBLEM, THEY SHOULD ADD A HEATED EMBLEM TO PREVENT THE BUILD UP.

THE AEB SYSTEM IS MALFUNCTIONING. ON MULTIPLE OCCASSIONS THE CAR SUDDENLY BREAKS EVENTHOUGH THERE IS NOTHING IN FRONT OF THE CAR. IT HAS ONLY HAPPENED TO ME WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY - GENERALLY THE ROADS ARE CLEAR. ON ONE OF THE MULTIPLE OCCASSIONS, CLEARING THE RADAR OF BUG SPLATTER SOLVED THE PROBLEM. ON ALL THE OTHER OCCASSIONS, THERE WAS NO OBSTRUCTION TO THE RADAR. THE BRAKES COME ON, THE AEB LIGHT ON THE CONSOLE COMES ON, A WARNING FLASHES, AND THEN THE CAR MOVES ON AS IF NOTHING HAPPENED. AFTER DOING THIS SEVERAL TIMES OVER SEVERAL MILES, THE AEB LIGHT COMES ON AND IT DESPLAYS AN ERROR MESSAGE ABOUT THE FRONT RADAR IS NOT WORKING AND THE CRUISE IS DISABLED. ON ONE OF THE OCCASSIONS A LARGE PICKUP TRUCK TOWING A TRAILER WAS RIGHT BEHIND ME WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY PUT ON THE BRAKES. FORTUNATELY, HE WAS ABLE TO STOP BEFORE HITTING MY CAR. WHEN I HAD THE CAR SERVICED AT THE DEALER, I TOLD THE SERVICE REP ABOUT THE ISSUE. HE INDICATED THAT A SHADOW OR SOMETHING LIKE A LEAF BLOWN ACROSS THE RADAR CAN CAUSE IT TO REACT. I DID NOT NOTICE ANY OCCRENCE OF SUCH. I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED THAT SOMEONE FOLLOWING TO CLOSE WILL END UP RAMMING ME IN THE REAR END. AFTER DOING AN INTERNET SEARCH, I HAVE FOUND MULTIPLE OCCURENCES OF THIS PROBLEM AND THAT NISSAN HAS SENT OUT SEVERAL TECHNICAL BULLETINS ABOUT THE PROBLEM. AS NOTED ABOVE, THERE HAVE BEEN MULTIPLE EVENTS OF THIS TYPE. IT TYPICALLY HAPPENS ON THE HIGHWAY.
