On September 17. 2025 I was at a red light on Normandie Avenue and Exposition Blvd the light turned green and as I was entering the intersection going southbound my doors on the vehicle started locking and un locking, my dashboard went black and the car shut off, The Braking system malfunction, the airbag did not deploy, my knees hit the bottom part of the dashboard and my mouth hit the steering wheel knocking out several teeth. The dashboard only had an airbag code, a brake code and a vehicle with the doors opened on the screen. I had the car towed to my home and informed my insurance company of the incident, they referred me to a body shop who held my vehicle for 5 months after doing the body work, they labeled my vehicle unsafe to drive because the codes are still on the vehicle, not knowing that this body shop doesn't do electrical work. I reached out to Honda several times because they were the last ones to work on my vehicle for the fuel pump recall, but they noted VSA\ABS for the last couple of weeks I finally talked with Service Manager Marvin Cabrera and he directed me to American Honda Motors and after reaching out to them since the 3rd of February, they keep telling me about appointing an investigation inspection with the FTS (field technical specialist) and I have not received any updates about my vehicle. These are the codes that came up while using the scan tool U0416 Invalid Data Received from vehicle Dynamics Control Module, B00D5 Occupant Classification System Sensor Fault, B0090 Left Frontal Restraints Sensor Incorrect Component Installed

On March 11, 2025 I took my car to Gardena Honda for a fuel pump recall for my 2018 Honda HR-v ex. On September 17, 2025 I had a system malfunction where the doors were locking and unlocking the dashboard went black and a car symbol with doors opened appear on the dash, the car shut off and I tried to brake but they did not work, I hit a car in front of me and when the airbags did not deploy I hit my mouth on the steering wheel and knock out 3 of 4 teeth that I had work done on. A scan tool was put on my vehicle when I got it home and there was two codes showing B00D5 occupant classification sensor fault and U0416 invalid data received from vehicle dynamic control module. I came to this website because i wanted to know was there any other recalls and found out there was 3 on the make model and year of my vehicle. # 135 Vehicle Brake System, low pressure fuel pump, and the fuel pump inside the fuel tank

*How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? -YES. [XXX] Burbank, CA, intersection [XXX] and [XXX] [XXX] ) There was a huge rainfall this evening. I was heading east on [XXX] and was about to make a "U" going back opposite direction. Making sure there is no on going or opposite traffic, safely i made a "U" turn on a parking lot, the first parking spot..and some of a sudden i realised that my car was touched some obstacle. It was a street light pole but from that pole there was a supporting 45 degrees angle metal wire going across a parking spot! I was not able to see a metal wire because of a light reflection and working windshield wipers.! This metal wire went through my front of a car and cracked the front bumper, left fender i was not able to open my driver door. My speed by doing "U" turn was about 5 miles per hour.. I called to my insurance took a picture of an incident location they came up to me with an estimate $1.553.00... This is insane and might be definitely dangerous for motorcycles and scooters. I have all the pictures, and video as well. Thank you! INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

On 8/10/2023, around 9:25 AM, at the parking lot of Jet Propulsion Laboratory, 4800 Oak Grove Drive, Pasadena, CA, I was pulling into a parking spot, moving very slowly. I was about to stop when the car suddenly took off in full speed, went over the concrete barrier toward hilly area covered with shrubs. That impact stopped the car, but half of my car was in the shrubs. It happened so fast that I didn't have a chance to break or anything. The car went into the shrub where nobody or no other car was around. Please see the attached photos. The bumper on the drive side is damaged and the car suffered some scratches and small broken parts. Prior to this incident, we experienced some minor incidents such as : - Car would not start at the first try and we had to try multiple times. We took the car to the dealer we purchased the vehicle and they replaced battery. Even after the replacement of the battery, it occurred couple more times. - Speaker announced to release the parking break when it was released and I was driving the car already. We took the car to the dealer and they ran diagnostics but didn't find anything. - The window on the front driver side gets sticky sometimes if left overnight. We took the car to the dealer and they ran diagnostics but didn't find anything. We took the car to the dealer again this morning (8/11/2023) and talked to the service representative. She looked at our record and we found out some of or complaints were not recorded. The contact stated that the dealer found that the electronic brake switch was turned on with no indication that it was on. The disc brake pads were also replaced since they were worn out.

A 27 mph head on collision. Drivers side door does not open. Approximately 6,500.00 worth of damage. Not 1 airbag deployed. Driver was wearing seat belt. The car is approx. 4 yrs old. well maintained. Inspected not long before the accident. I am very concerned at 27mph head on collision the air bags do not deploy, At what speed will they?? Or will they deploy at all? The HR-V has a 5 star rating. I will not even give my honda a 1/2 star at this point

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2018 Honda HR-V verdict →
