I was slowing down to pull into a parking spot at my office and suddenly the car accelerated, jumped the concrete barrier and crashed into the brick wall. The car continued to actively crash into the wall, so I put it in reverse and it accelerated backward with such force that it crashed into the rear of the car on the other side of the parking lot and then spun around 180 degrees and crashed into the side of that same car. My car was terrifyingly out of control. There was a woman in another car who had just parked and luckily she remained in her car because if she'd gotten out my car could have hit her. I don't know if this is related, but I regularly used the brake hold function and pressed the button to turn it off as I was parking. My perception is that the car suddenly accelerated when I depressed the brake hold button to turn it off. I have the parking lot security camera footage that clearly shows I was braking when the car suddenly accelerated and went out of control. I had 3 hard collisions and the airbag didn't deploy. Luckily I only had some neck and back pain and wasn't seriously injured. My car and the other car were totaled. I'm incredibly disappointed that Honda didn't call me back in time to be able to inspect the car. The insurance company pressured me to settle and turn over title. I'm very angry that the insurance company says I'm at fault because I need to stay in control of my vehicle at all times, but how could I have done that when the car suddenly went out of control? Now I'm going to have to pay higher insurance rates for something that I couldn't control.

Braking system caused my daughter to have an accident. My 2018 Honda Accord sport has been braking on its own for quite some time now. I attempted to turn off all safety features but somehow missed the braking system feature. The car will brake on its own with nothing in front of it. It will give beeping noises and flash “brake” on the dashboard. On 10/12/2022 my daughter was on the interstate, the roads were wet with heavy traffic. She called me saying that she had an accident. The officer stated that speeding played a part in causing the accident. My daughter said the car just started beeping and she noticed she was going to slow in traffic so she preceded to get in the right lane. Upon doing so she said that my car just started spinning and she took her foot off the gas and never applied pressure to the brakes. She ended up on the other side of the road hitting a guard rail. I feel like the braking system played a huge part in this accident.

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. As his wife was pulling into a driveway at a low rate of speed, the vehicle independently accelerated without warning. The contact's wife had slammed on the brake pedal but to no avail. The vehicle continued to accelerate and crashed into the house. The vehicle continued to accelerate upon impact and his wife was able to shut off the vehicle. The contact's wife nor the occupants inside the home were injured as a result of the collision. The vehicle caused damage to both the home and the vehicle in the garage. The airbags did not deploy upon impact. The police were called to the scene and a police report was filed. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to an independent body shop for repair. The dealer nor the manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 23,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AN ABNORMAL DRAGGING SOUND WAS HEARD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE WAS THEN MAKING A RIGHT TURN AND WHILE ATTEMPTED TO PARK THE VEHICLE SWERVED, UNINTENDEDLY ACCELERATED CAUSING THE DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE STEERING AND CRASHED INTO TWO VEHICLES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT VARIOUS WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. DURING THE CRASH NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. A POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN AT THE SCENE AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AWAY. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER TEAM HONDA (6363 SIEGEN LN, BATON ROUGE, LA 70809) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT SHE HAD RECEIVED A MANUFACTURER RECALL NOTICE THAT LISTED A FAILURE FOR UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,000.

ON 2/14/19, I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET IN A STRAIGHT LINE AT APPROXIMATELY 40MPH. THE CAR AHEAD OF ME STOPPED. I STEPPED ON THE BRAKE AND INSTANTLY THE DASHBOARD WARNINGS LIT UP - ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM, ROAD DEPARTURE MITIGATION SYSTEM, AND THE BRAKE - AND THE BRAKE DID NOT WORK SO I COULD NOT STOP. I REAR-ENDED THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME DOING SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE FRONT OF MY CAR. THE WARNINGS WERE STILL VISIBLE AFTER THE CRASH AND I TOOK PICTURES OF THE DASHBOARD AS BEST AS POSSIBLE. THE WARNINGS SAY SOMETHING ABOUT SYSTEM NOT WORKING AND TO SEE A DEALER. THE SAME WARNINGS APPEARED ON 2/13/19 IN THE AFTERNOON BUT DISAPPEARED ON 2/14/19 IN THE MORNING. OTHER WARNINGS OF SAFETY SYSTEMS NOT ACTIVE HAVE APPEARED DUE TO ICE/SLUSH BUT THEN CLEARED WHEN THE SENSORS WERE CLEARED, BUT THESE NEW WARNINGS ARE DIFFERENT. AT LEAST TWICE, MAYBE THREE TIMES IN THE PAST FEW MONTHS, THE CAR WOULD SUDDENLY BRAKE AND SLOW DOWN WITH NOTHING IN THE ROAD OR IN FRONT OF THE CAR. MY BLUETOOTH CONNECTIVITY WORKED FINE FOR FIRST 2-3 MONTHS BUT THEN STOPPED AND I COULDN'T RECONNECT THE PHONE OVER THE PAST TWO MONTHS. IT SEEMS LIKE MORE THAN ONE SYSTEM/ELECTRONICS PROBLEM AND SEEMS LIKE THE WARNINGS APPEARED AT THE SAME TIME AS THE BRAKE NOT WORKING AS IF IT WAS MORE THAN AN ALERT BUT A SYSTEM (SYSTEMS) NO LONGER FUNCTIONING AT ALL. THE BRAKE WORKED AFTER THE ACCIDENT WHEN THE CAR WAS RESTARTED.
