Rear passenger door behind the driver side of vehicle will not open up it causes safety issues for passengers and not being able to exit or enter through that door. It is not an electronic problem as the other three doors operate correctly. This vehicle has only 52,000 miles.

When driving at night and using the headlight switch's flash feature, the headlights go out completely when in AUTO mode. In manual mode, the headlights will be constantly on bright and will not allow the lights to dim. I took the car to the dealership and they confirmed what I was describing and said that the multifunction switch is faulty. I had a prior year Hyundai that has the same type of switch and was having the same issues reported. A TSB was issued for that vehicle to have the multifunction switch replaced. Seeing as how these vehicles are the same exact vehicles (just under a different brand name) and are having the same issues, I'm wondering if the Genesis should be covered under the same bulletin.

Genesis issued the recall in mid-February and there is still not a remedy. We are supposed to park our auto outside and not in the garage. As we live in Florida and it is very hot and it is hurricane season, it is intolerably hot to park outside and, in the event of a hurricane or thunderstorm with hail, we cannot park outside without risking damage to our auto. It has been nearly five months since the recall which should be sufficient time for Genesis to have a solution to the problem. Also, they are not offering any compensation for the additional hardship due to having to park outside such as having to wash the car more frequently. I will also be contacting my congressman to followup with your agency.

When turning, steering wheel sticks and does not return to center. It is necessary to use some additional effort to force the wheel back to center. No warning lamps or diagnostic trouble codes. Clear safety issue that has been documented by numerous other owners of the Genesis G80, and a known issue by Hyundai Motors / Genesis, as they will replace the Rack Mounted Motor-Driven Power Steering Assembly under the manufacturer's warranty. My vehicle is a few months out of warranty, with estimated repair cost of approximately $5k. For all owners of a 2018 Genesis G80, the warranty should be extended to cover this defective part, or a safety recall instituted. See Genesis TSB # 20-ST-004HG.

The vehicle started smoking Dec 2023. Placed it in the shop and got a diagnostic finding out about the turbocharge oil pipe leak. Two days after I got the car out the shop a recall was issued for the turbo oil pipe Genesis recall 019G. Called Genesis corporate office and the case worker says it’s nothing they can do due to me being the 2nd owner and my vehicle is a fire hazard smoking , shutting off while coming to a stop or reversing. I have a car note and have not been able to drive my vehicle in 3months. This is an big inconvenience and genesis isn’t trying to accommodate me for my trouble. t

Faulty oil pressure sensor comes on below 55 degrees and off when you increase RPM and speed. This is a huge safety issue if you think it's the sensor but it's not and can damage your engine, but it's nightmare when it's the sensor and you have a panic attack every time it comes on.

Recall in 2020 for a Oil Supply Pipe that is leaking and could cause a fire. It was completed in 2020. The same issue just occurred on 12/22/2023 where it stared leaking again and I took it to Genesis. They are saying I need to pay out of pocket but it is the same issue as the recall which is a fire hazard. They have had my car for 2 weeks. Opened a case with Genesis but they will not cover it. I have texts from the Gensis Mechanic saying it is the same issue. There were no warning signs except for the smoke when is was already leaking.

The driver side, back passenger door will not open. The automatic locks and handles do not release the door. This is not related to any accident. The issue developed suddenly and poses a huge issue for exit from the car during an emergency. The issue is reported on the internet by multiple Genesis and Hyundai owners and appears to be a known issue with no action taken to resolve by Genesis/Hyundai. There were no warnings or lights indicating a problem. The Genesis call number says they are not aware of the issue. The car has low mileage (<40,000).

When taking long curves, the steering wheel binds in the direction of the turn, causing oversteer. Requires driver to make an exaggerated movement to return to property steering. When this occurs the steering wheel will not return to center without driver intention. This occurs whether the lane assist is on or off. It also does not seem to be temperature driven, as it happens in the heat and cold. Vehicle is out of warranty. Took to local mechanic and although was able to replicate, was not able to provide an explanation without the expense of completely tearing down steering components. I noticed it first starting to occur after I purchased it used in October 2022. It still occurs multiple times a day.

Since August of 2022 , every time I go over road imperfection my steering shakes badly , even though it is intermittent , every time I bring it in to the dealer they cannot seem to replicate it, it is getting worse to the point that I know when it is going to happen .
