This vehicle was involved in an accident. The car crashed into a concrete barrier separating the interstate highway. The front passenger airbag appeared to only partly deploy, and the driver air bag did not deploy.

The contact owns a 2017 Honda Accord. The contact stated while his daughter was driving at 10 MPH and distracted, she crashed into a lamppost on the front driver's side of the vehicle. The air bags deployed. During the impact, the driver's seat belt failed to retract and secure the driver. No warning lights were illuminated. There was cosmetic damage but it was not severe due to the collision being minor and at low speeds. The vehicle was towed to an auto shop and the mechanic did not provide a diagnosis however, the mechanic informed the contact that the part to do the repair was unavailable. No police report was filed and no injuries were reported. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

The contact owns a 2017 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 40 mph, the contact became aware of a spare tire in the middle of the roadway. While attempting to avoid driving over the tire, the contact swerved and was struck by the vehicle on the driver’s side of the vehicle. The driver’s side seat air bag failed to deploy properly. The contact stated that there were holes in the air bag. The contact was able to pull the vehicle over to the side of the road and call 911. The contact was later told that no emergency service was available. The contact was informed to drive to the residence. There was no medical treatment at the scene however, the contact did see a doctor for pain in their upper left arm and left hip, and side. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000.

MY AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY AT THE TIME OF FRONTAL ACCIDENT AT APPROXIMATELY 30-40 MPH. ACCIDENT HAPPENED ON COUNTY STREET (GLEN MILL RD MONTGOMERY COUNTY MARYLAND) JANUARY 25TH AT 6:30 AM. WITH THE ROAD BEING VERY DARK, I DIDN'T SEE A FULL SIZE TREE ACROSS THE ROADWAY FROM A SEVERE STORM THE NIGHT BEFORE. I ANTICIPATED THE AIRBAG DEPLOYING ON IMPACT, HOWEVER IT SEEM LIKE A MINUTE OR TWO BEFORE THEY DEPLOYED BUT NEVER INFLATED ( NIETHER THE FRONT OR PASSANGER SIDE CURTIN) PHOTOS ARE ON MY PHONE AND WILL SEND WHEN I CAN DOWNLOAD ON THIS SITE.

I WAS DRIVING SOUTHBOUND ON MD 301 HIGHWAY IN THE FAR RIGHT LANE (4TH LANE) GOING 45MPH. THE OTHER VEHICLE WAS HEADED NORTHBOUND ON MD 301 AND MADE A LEFT TURN ONTO THE SB LANES CROSSING ALL LANES. THE COLLISION OCCURRED WHEN THE DRIVER ATTEMPTED TO CROSS THE 4TH SB LANE (MY LANE). I HIT THE CAR WITHOUT BREAKING AS I WAS TRAVELING 45MPH. THIS WAS A HEAD ON COLLISION WITH EXTENSIVE FRONT END DAMAGE. MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE OTHER VEHICLE HAD AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS PROCEEDING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION, ANOTHER VEHICLE FAILED TO YIELD THE RIGHT OF WAY AND CRASHED INTO THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE STEERING WHEEL AIR BAG DEPLOYED AND SMOKE ENTERED THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE CONTACT LOST CONSCIOUSNESS AND AWOKE TO FIND THAT THE SEAT BELT DID NOT PROPERLY RESTRAIN HER, WHICH RESULTED IN INJURIES TO THE NECK, HEAD, AND SHOULDERS. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS RECEIVED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,000.
