My 2016 Jeep Wrangler is displaying warning lights (Brake, ABS, Traction Control) on the dashboard. I took it to my Jeep dealership where they diagnosed the issue as an inoperative ABS Module part number 68259556AD. They placed it on order but it was back ordered with no available delivery date. My Jeep is now not able to be driven.

Jeep Wrangler Unlimited ABS, Brake, & Traction Control warning lights all came on at once while driving. Once jeep stopped vehicle went into limp mode limiting power and MPH to less than 30 MPH. Which is a huge safety problem when all the roads to and from out house are 45 MPH. ABS Module is bad per the dealer. Vehicle is VOR in the system, and undriveable. No estimate when a new part will arrive.

On September 2, 2025, while driving at 65 mph, I lost control of my vehicle three times. The traction control light came on each time, creating a serious safety risk to me and others. The issue appears to involve the airbag clockspring/steering column assembly, matching symptoms reported under Safety Recall 27B (RC-27B-24). My VIN is not currently included in the recall. Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram opened Case #94164354 and advised me to submit this so my VIN can be added. The part is available for inspection. My car is not drivable at this time due to the safety issue.

The jeep has an ABS module that went bad. I have been waiting months- perhaps over a year, and there is still no estimate on the part coming in. It is an essential part, one with no generic replacement. It is illegal for jeep to just leave all of us hanging.

In February of 2024, my ABS, traction control and brake warning lights came on. This disables the ABS, traction control and cruise control. After scanning the vehicle for codes, there is a C2200 internal fault for the ABS control module. Making sure it is not a sensor issue, I tested all four wheels and all check out fine. Looking up the C2200, I would need to replace the module. The problem is, the module has been on national backorder since December 2023 with no end in sight. My only option is to either send that module out to a company and pay $450 plus shipping to have it rebuilt or to pay upwards of $1400 for it on eBay. Even then, it may not be a genuine or new part. I have a vehicle with a safety feature that failed and another 2016 Jeep Wrangler that is starting to show similar symptoms. Stellantis / Mopar is of zero help and will not tell me when or if the part will be available.

The anti lock brake module is not signaling correctly, causing the car to lose power for a second every few minutes, braking is more difficult, and there is no traction on slippery surfaces. The cruise control also is not working, and the brake, ABS and traction warning lights flash every few minutes while operating. It was in the shop for a month waiting on the new module, and it is back ordered with no estimated date for shipping. My vehicle is under warranty and I’m not able to go outside the terms to get it fixed, and Mopar is not making any effort to provide a solution. The dealership even said they had another that had been sitting in their shop for over a year with the same problem. The car is drivable but only until the system goes completely, which will be when it goes into emergency limp mode at a random time while driving, so driving it means taking on that risk.

The ABS module has quit working and Stellantis and our local Jeep Dealership keeps saying the part is back ordered or under Engineering review and this has been going on for 2 years. With the ABS module not working some of the vehicles systems do not work as designed. Obviously the ABS system is deactivated. The module also controls the cruise control, anti hill assist and there is noticeable difference of how the automatic transmission shifts and at what RPM it shifts. Since the module has been declared and not available and appears there is no replacement available from Stellantis and Jeep this leave me with a vehicle that parts have failed that are important and designed for the vehicle safe operation and not recourse available to me or other others of Jeep Wranglers with similar or worse problems. Stellantis and Jeep need to come up with an alternate ABS Module or a fix to the modules on my vehicle.

The ABS Control Module has failed (part number 68259556AD). I have discovered it has been unavailable from Chrysler/Jeep for over 2 years. I read where this is a dispute between Chrysler/Jeep and their supplier of the part. I feel it dangerous not to have my ABS system, and it seems the manufacturer is doing nothing to make the part available. This needs to change.

The front passenger seatbelt wasn’t working properly and we noticed the belt was frayed so we ordered a new one from car parts direct. Today while taking the old belt out we noticed that the seatbelt unit itself wasn’t bolted into the jeep. It was bolted off to the side causing it to be crooked which is why the belt frayed because the entire unit was not in properly. The bolt that should be holding it in is still in the jeep yet the seatbelt unit came out very easily and you can clearly see where the bolt was sitting. I will include photos.

The ABS Pump Module on Jeep Wranglers are not working and Stellantis/Wrangler has stopped making replacement parts. If you look on [XXX] you can see that this is a nationwide issue and impacts Wrangler models spanning over several years (so far I've seen from 2014-2019). I've been trying to get the part for over a year to no avail. Also, the part is tied to the vehicle's VIN number, so you cannot use one from another Jeep (for example one from a junk yard). The safety issue is that the automatic braking system does not work properly. My Jeep also fishtails when driving in the rain. There are warning lights on the dash, which come on and off randomly. Mine do not stay on permanently. Initially, I tried to get this part replaced at a Firestone in CA, and then tried again at a mechanic in TX. Both told me the same thing, that the part is unavailable, no longer being made and that it is a national issue. A recall has not been issued either. This vehicle is not suitable for driving, it has suspension, alignment, brake and speed problems. I was about to have an accident, I was going down an avenue and suddenly the wheels stopped and the car began to move from one side to the other and I lost stability of the steering wheel and the car, putting my life and the lives of my family (my girlfriend and my mother) at risk, luckily I did not cause an accident because there was no car in the side lane ... It is impossible to drive this car, the next day I took the car to a detailed inspection at a mechanical workshop specialized in Jeeps and indeed it has serious and serious problems with the car. There are images where the lights on the dashboard are on and the engine is also overheated ... For this reason, I decided to return the car to the dealer and file the report as evidence of this defective car and dangers to driving ...

After I made a left turn onto a four-lane highway, the transmission stuck in first gear and I wasn't able to get over to the shoulder because of traffic passing on the right side. I was nearly rear-ended twice before finally being able to exit with a left turn. The engine light came on soon after this happened.

Left front brake caliper not releasing. Replaced caliper and brake pads, problem still exist. After some research found that there has been an issue with brake line. Apparently the mounting bracket on the line has in some cases pinched the line restricting fluid flow causing brake to not release fully. Have seen multiple instances of this problem on line. Curious why Jeep has not addressed this issue? Am currently waiting for new brake line to replace existing one to attempt to correct the problem. For reference I am a certified mechanic and this is my personal vehicle which is why I am preforming the repair myself.

The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that upon attempting to alert a gateman using the horn, the horn failed to function. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the clock spring. The contact was informed that the clock spring needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V288000 (Air Bags), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 106,000.

ABS module is failing (confirmed by repair shop) and needs replacement, and ABS light had illuminated. After finding out the Dodge/Jeep has discontinued manufacture of this part that is in every 2012-2020 Wrangler, this poses a very serious safety concern as no replacement part is available. Possibility of purchasing a used one that ultimately will have the same result as the original one that was in the vehicle. A recall needs to be made before this becomes a major issue.

For the last 1.5 years the ABS control module light, check engine light, and the traction control light is on. I have taken my jeep to multiple dealers and mechanic shops for this issue and I am repeatedly informed the ABS control module is not in production. It is the only vehicle I own and I fear for my safety. I need to replace this part but the manufacturer is not selling to the dealer or mechanic shops. Can you help me find this part?

December 2024 the abs module failed on my 2016 Jeep Wrangler. Dropped it off at the mechanic and it is now May 2025 with no help from the manufacturer. This is a severe safety issue with the brakes locking up and causing the jeep to not be functionable. I keep seeing recalls for other years makes and models. I need someone to help with a recall on my jeep's abs module and to get a solustion to get my jeep back functioning safely again. I can not drive it at this moment because of this issue.
