AND ENDED UP IN THE INTERSECTION. WARRANTY PERSON WENT TO DEALER AND DENIED REPAIR WORK. I HAVE ON VIDEO (SEVERAL TIMES) THAT IT STALLS/SHUDDERS. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE FROM THE SEVERAL MECHANICS (NOT JUST MY DEALER) THAT I HAVE SPOKE TO. MY DEALERSHIP WHERE I GET ALL REPAIRS HAS IT ON RECORD OF STALLING/SHUDDERING WHEN I LEFT IT THERE TO TRY GETTING THE REPAIRS. UNABLE TO UPLOAD VIDEOS HERE TO SHOW WHAT IT DOES.

UPON MY FIRST START OF THE DAY (COLD START) MY JEEP STARTS NO ISSUE AT ALL BOTH REMOTE START AND STANDARD IGNITION. WHEN I PUT MY JEEP INTO REVERSE, THE RPM'S DROP AND THE JEEP SHUTTERS AND THEN STALLS. SOMETIMES IT DOES A HARD SHUTTER LOW IDLE AND CAN STAY ALIVE BUT USUALLY STALLS. DEALER SAYS THEY CAN'T FIND THE ISSUE BUT I HAVE FOUND SEVERAL FORUMS THAT SAY IT'S THE TORQUE CONVERTER. PLEASE HELP.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED IN THE MORNING AND WAS REVERSED OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT STATED THE FAILURE RECURRED AFTER DRIVING AND COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP. AN APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED WITH REED CHRYSLER LOCATED AT 1724 N SPRING ST, BEAVER DAM, WI 53916 (920) 887-2300 WHICH WAS STILL PENDING. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE MAY BE DUE TO A TORQUE SENSOR FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.

WHEN IT IS COLD OUTSIDE, ONLY FIRST THING IN THE MORNING, AND I ATTEMPT TO PLACE THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE, IT STALLS OUT. ON SOME OCCASIONS THE RMP'S WILL DROP BUT IT WON'T ACTUALLY STALL OUT. THIS PROBLEM IS ALL OVER THIS SITE AND ALL OVER THE JEEP FORUM. IT IS THE TORQUE CONVERTER, THIS WAS REPLACED IN MY VEHICLE. IT TOOK TWO DIFFERENT TRIPS, TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS FOR THEM TO DIAGNOSIS AND FIX THE PROBLEM AS IT IS INTERMITTENT. I AM UNSURE WHY THIS IS NOT A RECALL AS SO MANY JEEP OWNERS APPEAR TO HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM.

VEHICLE STALLS WHEN PUT INTO REVERSE WHEN COLD. THIS DOES NOT MEAN ONLY FIRST START OF THE DAY. WHEN TRANSMISSION FLUID IS UNDER 120 DEGREES, IT WILL STALL IN REVERSE WITH BRAKE DEPRESSED. UPON RESTART, THE STARTER WILL ENGAGE FOR A PROLONGED PERIOD EVEN AFTER THE VEHICLE STARTS, THE STARTER WILL CONTINUE TO RUN TOO LONG. WHEN THE VEHICLE RESTARTS AFTER A STALL, IT WILL IDLE ROUGH WHEN SHIFTED BACK INTO REVERSE. NO PROBLEMS IN DRIVE. STARTED AT A MILEAGE OF AROUND 35,000. VEHICLE NOW AT 58,000 AND HAS PROGRESSIVELY WORSENED.

I TOOK MY JEEP FOR AN OIL CHANGE SERVICE. THE MECHANIC TOLD ME HE FOUND A LEAK ON THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE. AFTER FURTHER INSPECTIONS, I DISCOVER THE ENGINE OIL COOLER HAS A LEAK. I WAS TOLD THIS ISSUE IS NOT COVERED UNDER MY WARRANTY BECAUSE IS OVER THE 60K. MY RESEARCH SHOWS THAT THIS IS A NON-ISSUE WITH THE 3.6L ENGINE NHTSA ID # 10138863. WE NEED HELP MAKING THE MANUFACTURER RESPONSIBLE FOR FAULTY PRODUCTS.

THE TRANSMISSION REVVED AND THE RPMS WENT ALL THE WAY UP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PREMIER CAPE COD JEEP (460 YARMOUTH RD, HYANNIS, MA 02601, (508) 815-5000) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE DEALER WOULD NOT SERVICE THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE WARRANTY ISSUES AND THEY WERE ALSO BOOKED FOR WEEKS WITH APPOINTMENTS. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO TAKEN TO HELLER JEEP (635 MILL ST ROUTE 6, MARION, MA 02738, (508) 748-0019) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ABS AND TRACTION SENSORS NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE DEALER FURTHER STATED THAT THE ENGINE OVERHEATED AND LEAKED COOLANT AND THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,978.

THEY SAID THAT THE CABLE CONNECTION GETS LOOSE AND THEY SOLDERED IT. THIS STARTED ABOUT 20000 MILES AND IS NOW AT 57778 MILES. THIS LAST TIME ON 4-24-2019 THEY SAID THAT IT HAS STORED CODES FOR THE CAM SENSORS ON BOTH BANKS AND TORQUE REQUEST DENIED SIGNAL AND TORQUE MANAGEMENT SIGNAL PERFORMANCE. P2638, C121C, P0344, P0369. THEY SAID THAT IT HAS PCM UPDATE AND THAT THEY PERFORMED THE PCM UPDATE AGAIN AND CLEARED CODES TO SEE IF THEY WOULD COME BACK. VEHICLE DRIVEN 30 MILES AND AND ONE LARGE BUMP IN THE ROAD AND THE LIGHTS TURNED ON AGAIN. THIS HAPPENS WHILE GOING DOWN DIRT ROADS. THEY ALSO TOLD ME THE FIRST TIME THAT IT WAS TAKEN IN THAT THE CABLE IS TO SHORT AND CAUSES STRESS AND STRETCHES, CAUSING IT TO COME LOOSE. THIS TIME THEY SAID IF THE LIGHTS CAME BACK ON THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO HAVE THE VEHICLE BACK TO DO MORE EXTENSIVE TESTS AND POSSIBLE REPLACE THE SENSORS AT MY EXPENSE. THIS SEEMS TO BE A REOCCURRING PROBLEM THAT ALWAYS COMES BACK. THEY ALSO STATED THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM ON ALL WRANGLERS. THIS SEEMS TO BE A MANUFACTURES DEFECT AND NEEDS TO RECALLED AND FIXED.
