I am reporting a safety defect involving my 2016 Jaguar XJ. The driver-side door cannot be opened from either the inside or the outside. This failure occurred without warning and has made the vehicle unsafe to operate. This issue presents a serious safety risk. If an emergency occurs, such as a crash, fire, or other urgent situation, the driver may be unable to exit the vehicle quickly. Being trapped inside the vehicle due to a non-functioning door creates a dangerous condition and increases the risk of injury. The vehicle has been used under normal conditions, and there were no prior indications that the door latch, lock, or electronic mechanism would fail. A complete loss of access to the driver door is not expected and suggests a potential defect in the door latch or locking system. This problem may not be isolated and could affect other vehicles of the same make and model. I am requesting that this issue be investigated as a potential safety defect that may warrant further review or recall. A vehicle door that cannot be opened from inside or outside compromises basic safety and emergency exit requirements.

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2016 Jaguar Xj (swb) verdict →
