TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2016 HONDA ODYSSEY. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO A TELEPHONE POLE. THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW LOT WHERE IT WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V417000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE); HOWEVER, THE CONTACT DID NOT RECEIVE A RECALL LETTER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,700. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
