While traveling at a high rate of speed of 75 mph, on the highway, my brakes failed, the brake pedal was pushed to the floor. The car was hesitant to shift/accelerate. Upon trying to get some type of braking remedy i almost crashed from off the bridge that i was trying to merge on to. upon trying to stop the car i went up a small grade which brought the car to a stop with the emergency brake on. While out of the vehicle the back, driver side caliber caught flame with bluish and greenish flames from the brake fluid coming out, being the metal was at an extreme temperature. I thankfully had my children's drinks/slushies in the car to throw on the flame to stop the spread and to put the flames out. I had to call for a tow truck to get myself and children off the side of the highway. After a $172.98 bill, the car was towed home. I contacted the dealership, which was then told i was responsible to pay and have it towed yet again to the dealerships lot. I have contacted the ford manufacture customer service line, dealership and the number for the recall notice multiple times to get my car fixed and have yet to receive adequate help in doing so.

I went to pick my daughter up from school as usual and the brakes would not work when I tried to stop in the turn loop. It caused me to crash the side of the car into a cement light post.

I got into an accident around May 3rd. Roughly around 11 pm to 12 am. To inform whomever is reading, none of the issues I will list have happened prior to this event. At the accident my car would not turn on, and it would not lock. As well as a piece of the car had broke off. I took my car to Mike's auto body for repairs. When the person inspecting the car had reviewed what was wrong with my 2016 Ford Fusion, I was informed part of the issue was the starter. I was informed by Nick a staff member of Mike's auto body, that the piece was replaced. After I had picked up my car on June 6, 2023 as per the receipt from my payment. The first time the event happened was on around June 6th to June 20th (I know it happened on a rainy Tuesday or Wednesday anywhere from 7am to 8am prior to Thursday June 22nd.) My car flashed "See manual" on my dash board. The air bag light had turned on. My car would not accelerate, the brakes functioned at this point, but when I pulled off the road and parked my car shook. When I had turned my car off, took out the keys, and turned it on again the problem was "resolved" and I was able to continue driving to work. I had called the auto shop and eventually left my car with the auto shop to be safe. The next event happened on Thursday June 22nd at 4:10 pm after I had picked it up from the auto shop when Nick had informed me my car was safe and nothing was reading on the scanner. (I took a picture of the dash board to show the message) and turned my car back into the auto shop. To note, the brakes did not work during this time. The next time it happened was the first time I drove my car again after picking it up from Mike's auto shop. July 1st at 12:47 pm. The same stuff happened. I recorded on video what my car was doing. My car decelerate when my foot was still on the gas, the brakes were not working, hot air out of the ac, car shaking. It happened 10+ times today (7/15/23) after leaving the dealership to fix a recall I have several videos of it

WHEN I FIRST RECEIVED MY CAR, A FEW WEEKS LATER I TRIED TO STOP MY CAR AT A UPCOMING TRAFFIC LIGHT AND IT FAILED TO STOP WHICH CAUSED A 3 CAR COLLISION. I TOOK IT TO FORD AND HAD IT SERVICED WITH A GOOD BIT OF DAMAGE AND ASKED THAT THEY PLEASE LOOK AT BRAKES BECAUSE IT DIDN'T STOP CORRECTLY. WHEN I RECEIVED CAR BACK ASSUMED THEY CHECKED BRAKES AND IT WAS OK. GOT INTO A SPIN OUT ON THE HIGHWAY AT ANOTHER TIME WHEN I TRIED TO BREAK MY CAR. WENT TO THE HOSPITAL WAS PREGNANT AND HURT MY BACK. THEN, KEPT HEARING A HORRIBLE NOISE COMING FROM MY BREAKS FOR A WHILE, KEPT PUTTING BRAKE FLUID IN THINKING THAT WAS IT. ONE DAY DECIDED TO LOOK AT MY WHEELS AND THE RIMS ON BOTH MY BACK TIRES ARE BLACK. I ASSUMED IT WAS FROM BREAK DUST AND RUBBING. AT THIS POINT WHEN I STOP MY CAR THE CAR DOESN'T STOP IMMEDIATELY. IN ORDER TO STOP THE CAR YOU HAVE TO SLAM THE PEDAL TO THE GROUND AND BEGIN STOPPING EARLY, AND BE VERY CAREFUL WHILE DRIVING. TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND BOUGHT THE PARTS. THE MECHNIC BEGAN DOING THE WORK AND CAME TO ME AND SAID WHAT I BELIEVE IS THE ROTOR IS WORN COMPLETELY OFF, THERE IS PARTS MISSING ON THE BRAKE AND IT WAS PUT TOGETHER INCORRECTLY. I AM HIGHLY PISSED AS I AM FINANCING THIS CAR, HAVEN'T DRIVEN IT IN MONTHS NOW BECAUSE IT'S UNDRIVABLE. VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND ALL BECAUSE IT WASN'T PUT TOGETHER CORRECTLY, MORE CHARGES ARE BEING SLAPPED ON BECAUSE OF THE DAMAGE. HAVE GOT IN TO ACCIDENTS, BEEN PUT IN DANGER AND HAVE BEEN ASKING ABOUT MY BRAKES SINCE I GOT MY CAR. I'M PAYING FOR A CAR I CAN'T DRIVE. SINCE I GOT THE CAR THE MAJORITY OF THE TIME IT'S SAT BECAUSE I AM VERY AFRAID TO OPERATE THE VEHICLE ESPECIALLY IN RAIN AND SNOW.

AFTER COMING TO A STOP ON OUR HIGHWAY RAMP. I HAD INTENDED TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN. BEFORE I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE MY CAR ACCELERATED CAUSING MY BACK TIRES TO LOCK AND SCREECH. I WAS UNABLE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL TOWARD THE RIGHT SO THAT I COULD REMAIN ON THE TWO LANE ROAD. MY CAR PULLED TO THE LEFT AND I SLAMMED INTO THE MEDIUM. MY CAR CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP BUT WAS STILL RUNNING. I TURNED OFF THE MEDIUM AND CONTINUED HOME. SHORTLY AFTER I HEARD THUMPING NOISE FOLLOWED BY LOUDER THUMPING AND MY ENTIRE DASH BOARD LIT EXCEPT FOR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND THE WRENCH. I PULLED MY CAR TO THE SIDE TO FIND I HAD TWO BLOWN FRONT TIRES, MY BUMPER WAS BROKEN AND MY DRIVER SIDE BACK TIRE WENT FLAT WAITING ON A TOW. ALL MY YEARS DRIVING I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED AN UNINTENTIONAL ACCELERATION OF A VEHICLE AND PRAY THAT MYSELF OR GRANDDAUGHTER NEVER HAVE TO AGAIN. *TR

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2016 Ford Fusion Energi verdict →
