The brake pedal loses pressure when applied . If applied for an extended period ( stopping at a red light ) the pedal will reach the floor . This can cause a serious accident . There have been 2 recalls addressing this problem but my vehicle was not listed in the either recall ( 20S31 & 22S11 ). My vehicle was built in Kansas in July 2016. Recall # 20S31 was issued for vehicles built Aug.1st. 2013 thru Aug. 31 2014. Recall 22S11 was issued for vehicles built Aug. 2 2016 thru Jan. 31 2017. There seems to be an on-going problem for this time period .

Vehicle idles rough than stalls after being at speed when stopped. Present a drivable condition in dangerous situations,no warning and throws no codes according to Ford service dealers. This condition has been present for over a year. It’s my belief FMC knows about faulty VCT selinoids and cam phasers failure. They do have a TSB out on some of it. This condition does present a dangerous condition because there are no indications that the truck engine has died. FMC needs to recall vehicles with this condition and replace/ repair the faulty components at their cost.

Sensors inside transmission shorted out and would cause forced down shifting at highway speed and tires to break traction on wet roads. Dealer stated this issue was recalled on most similar transmissions, but not on the F150. Engine went into limp mode constantly and transmission seemed to want to lock up. A wrench error code was on dash display. Symptoms started in June 2022 and repairs we made July 28, 2022 after a 3 to 4 week wait for replacement parts. Again, dealer informed me of TSB put out for most other vehicles with the same transmission. $1200.00 repair

The front left brake line ruptured unexpectedly (no warning lamps leading up to the incident, no reduction in braking leading up to the issue; just sudden, unexpected loss of braking ability). Fortunately, this occurred while backing out of a parking spot; had this failure occurred moments earlier while driving on the highway, this could have been a much more dangerous situation. Following failure of the brake line, vehicle was towed to local dealership, who confirmed it was the brake line that failed "due to normal wear and tear", and that the master cylinder and other components were in good condition. The line was described by the mechanic to be "dried out and cracked from age" leading to a rupture. This vehicle was manufactured in 2016 with ~82,000 miles and has undergone routine maintenance as prescribed; so "normal wear and tear" does not seem so normal to me.

The throttle body control failed which caused the vehicle to have no power just idle. It failed at a time when I wasn’t in a dangerous spot it failed in my neighborhood. But it makes the vehicle with no power when pushing on the gas. Talked to dealer and they said yes they can just go out like a light bulb. If I was making a turn or merging into traffic it would have been extremely dangerous. Searching online this seems to be a common problem with these suddenly going out.

We discovered water in the glove compartment after rain. The passengers identified headliner has clearly had water issues prior to our purchase of this vehicle used. We applied silicone caulking to the top, passenger side windshield. After further rains, the water seems to be collecting under the dashboard and spills out when turns are made or velocity changes. Further silicone caulking of the windshield may be preventing leakage, but we are not fully assured of that.

Both Right side and Left side exhaust manifolds warped resulting in stud bolt failure. The Right side failed at 69000 miles and the left side failed at 82000 miles. This failure results in "Emissions Leakage" and unsafe environment in the cab for occupants. Additionally, from an environmental standards requirement, all exhaust fails to make it through the "Catalyst" for cleansing and damages the "Catalyst" as a result of the engine adjusting to a lean mixture. Ford does not cover this expensive repair under its emissions warranty

I was driving on the freeway 50-60 mph ,my transmission downshifted suddenly, my rear tires locked up, causing my truck to slow down violently. I looked at my dash and the shift indicator was flashing. I had a wrench appear on my dash two days earlier and called my local Ford dealer for maintenance and was given an appointment in about a week , I was told that wrench could mean 400 things. I made my appointment the following wednesday and was told the lead frame connector was faulty and the part would be ordered. One month later still no part or repair. I was told it would be covered under my extended warranty I had purchased from Ford.

2016 Ford 150 6R80 auto transmission. I was driving downhill on a paved county road coming to a stop. Pulled onto 2 lane highway, accelerated, then tranmission hard down shifted unexpectedly to limp mode. Engine ran in high idle and would not shift up. Wrench light lit up. I'm lucky nobody was coming up behind me or I wouldn't be here to submit this! The dealer was relatively close, so I went directly, and slowly, there. Dealer pulled codes P0706, P0707, P0720, P0722, P1921, P1702, P0722. They confirmed it was a faulty molded lead frame. Dealer was not able to get transmission to shift, and then it wouldn't start at all. $1300 repair. This happened July 6. Part is not available till Aug 30????!!!! I'm a carpenter. This truck is my living! Thank God this didn't happen at full highway speed like it has to others. This problem was a recall in 2011-2013 models. How is this not a safety recall now? This is dangerous! Get your stuff together, Ford! The contact stated it doesn’t appear they are including enough model years to resolve the issue fully.

The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH, the steering wheel aggressively started jerking to the right. The contact had to exert an excessive amount of force to steer the vehicle. The contact was able to pull to the side of the road and turned off the vehicle. The vehicle was restarted and the steering wheel functioned temporarily before the failure recurred. The vehicle was towed to the dealer but was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 125,000.

The transmission is malfunctioning. The vehicle loses power, and can not accelerate or maintain speed while driving. I have had to pull over on expressways multiple times to shut vehicles off to reset the issues. The vehicle has been inspected by a Mechanic and determined the P0722 Output Sensor is bad. Also, report error code P061A. I have spoken with and attempted to schedule appointments with two different Ford Dealerships that have stated the part is not available and they will not/can not schedule an appointment to repair the issue. This is a recurring issue.

The dealer informed him that the leak was on the oil pan and that the oil pan needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact also stated the front driver's side failed to latch in the winter causing water to enter into the door handle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and repaired under an unknown recall however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where he was informed that they could not assist with the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered no assistance as the vehicle was not under warranty. The contact stated that the manufacturer informed him to call the NHTSA to have a recall issued. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

Rear window spontaneously exploded on July 8th around 11:00am. My truck was parked and not driven for two days. The rear window exploded and shattered. The glass was everywhere, In the truck bed and all over the cab. The seats and carpet have shards of glass embedded in them. I called Tom Masano Ford in Shillington PA. Spoke to Lydia a service advisor. She told me that Ford would not cover the repair/replacement of the rear window. She stated that Ford would not take any responsibility for this safety issue. There was no warning lamps, messages, ect prior to the window exploding. We have an appointment at Tom Masano Ford on Monday July 18th.

No engine light or warnings. At vehicle start up there is a loud ratteling sound. The variable valve timing system is causing due to the cam phasers being faulty. This is a known issue and some models have recalls but mine is not listed leading to around a $3600 repair on a vehicle that only has 60k miles.

3.5 liter EcoBoost engine had both exhaust manifolds warped and leaking with broken bolt. Two local Ford Dealers informed me that this is an issue plaguing many vehicles with the same engine having the same warped exhaust manifolds. The dealers also stated the only repair is to replace both exhaust manifolds with upgraded parts costing between $3000-$5000 (including labor). Having both exhaust manifolds leaking caused engine exhaust to leak into the engine compartment potentially causing danger during operation and maintenance of the vehicle. Repairs on my vehicle were completed on 6/27/2022 and the reason for delay in repairs was in part between parts ordering and dealership scheduling.

My 2016 Ford F-150 will periodically stall. The stall could occur while stopped (at a light or to make turn), while in park and only idling, or when the vehicle was in motion at less than 25 mph. If it stalled while starting a turn, then there was a serious risk of major collision from oncoming traffic. If the oncoming vehicle did not recognized the vehicle was stalling, or had otherwise failed to properly evaluate the situation early enough then a collision would be likely. A scan of multiple Internet web sites found thousands of people, with similar model years and the same engine, 5.0L Coyote, having the same or similar issue.
