The passenger side curtain airbag spontaneously stopped working. The airbag warning light started flashing on the dashboard, and we took it in to the dealership. They reset the code warning, but the light came on again. They said they needed to replace the airbag after trying to replace the sensor and having the same issue. The van has not been in any accidents or had any side impacts and has about 72,000 miles on it. Nissan refuses to cover any part of the $3,000 repair cost since the manufacturer warranty expires at 60,000 miles. The dealership advised us that since there's an issue with one airbag, it's possible that no airbags would deploy in the event of a crash. So the airbag or airbag system is faulty and possibly has been all along, but we just now got the warning light. Obviously driving a car without working airbags is incredibly unsafe, and Nissan doesn't seem to think they should have to stand behind their products or consumers to fix the issue and ensure their safety.

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2015 Nissan Quest verdict →
