The vehicle has significant cracks in both front end knuckles. This appears to be an issue in 2014-2016 L405 models. Both the Canadian and UK authorities have issued recalls for this issue. Fortunately I discovered this issue before complete failure as I came across a video highlighting this issue on YouTube. The channel is called ‘LR Time’. The vehicle had been in for a state inspection and suspension work twice in the last two months and the JLR dealership failed to identify the issue either time

AS I WAS BACKING OUT MY DRIVEWAY I HEARD A LOUD POP NOISE AND THEN NOTICED THAT MY FRONT DRIVERS SIDE TIRE HAS COLLAPSED MAKING THE CAR UN-DRIVEABLE. HAD I BEEN DRIVING AT HIGH SPEED IT COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A DANGEROUS LIFE THREATENING SITUATION. IT WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THERE I WAS TOLD THAT RANGE ROVER IN CANADA AND THE UK HAD BEEN RECALLED FOR THE SAME MALFUNCTION. MY RANGE ROVER HAS ONLY BEEN SERVICE BY AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND WAS AT LOW MILEAGE FOR THE YEAR OF THE CAR. NEVER HAD ANYONE WHO INSPECTED OR DID WORK ON THE CAR SAW ANY EVIDENCE THAT SOMETHING WAS READY TO BREAK. IT HAS SINCE BEEN REPAIRED AT A COST OF $8031.68. I REPORTED TO LAND ROVER NORTH AMERICA THEY HAVE DECLINED TO RECOGNIZE ANY FAULT ON THEIR END AND DID NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE FOR THE REPAIR WHEN THEY HAVE SEEN THIS IN OTHER COUNTRIES ON MY SAME MODEL AND YEAR. My 2015 range rover had a catastrophic failure of the driver side steering knuckle while underway. This caused me to lose control of the vehicle and the wheel almost fell off the car. Fortunately, I was going less than 30 mph. The failure was caused by the regular application of brakes approaching an intersection. Without the support of the steering knuckle the wheel has no support and the steering and braking are compromised. The vehicle is currently at the landrover dealership in Bedford NH and has been inspected and the repair is estimated to cost 7900. An additional 3000 to replace the passenger side steering knuckle as well. There were no warning lamps or signs of the failure prior to the incident. The car has very low mileage for age and is exceptionally well maintained. Upon further investigation I discovered that hundreds of owners around the world and in the USA have experienced the same random failure on their 2015 model Range Rover. Both Landrover Canada and Land rover UK have issued safety recalls(N759 recall number) for the same year and model of my vehicle. Land Rover USA has not issued a recall and I think this is a major safety issue for this vehicle. The NHTSA should look into this. Clearly there was a bad batch of parts in the 2015 year and they have subsequently redesigned the parts. I've uploaded a couple of example letters for the international recalls. Yes the part is available for inspection or you can google it and see 100s of similar failures.

Front right knuckle cracked and separated from upper control arm ball joint causing front lower control arm ball joints to fail and inner CV axle joint to separate and also cause damage to air spring. The part failure occurred while I was driving and the vehicle lost all control. I feared greatly for my safety and if I were on a highway, I could've crashed into other vehicles. The manufacturer has recall campaigns for this exact issue in the UK and Canada, but not the US. The vehicle was repaired at a manufacturer dealer at my expense. The manufacturer is aware of the problem with my vehicle. There were no warning lights or signs whatsoever. The part fails without warning.

Iam writing to express my deep concern regarding safety recall N759v2 issued for 2014-2016 Range Rover L405 vehicles in the United Kingdom and Canada. It has come to my attention that this safety recall has not yet been formally announced for the same vehicles in the United States. I am the owner of a 2015 Range Rover HSE, with the VIN: [XXX] . As a responsible vehicle owner, I prioritize the safety and well-being of myself, my passengers, my children, and fellow road users. The lack of a safety recall announcement for the same vehicles in the United States has raised concerns about the safety of my vehicle. Given the seriousness of safety recalls and their potential impact on public safety, I have contacted Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC to issue a recall in the USA to conduct a thorough inspection of my vehicle to ensure it meets the required safety standards. I believe it is crucial to take proactive steps to address any potential safety issues promptly and to ensure the safety of all individuals on the road. My attempts to contact JLR have been unsuccessful despite a number of USA based vehicles falling in the VIN range having failed steering knuckles. I would appreciate it if you could schedule an inspection at the soonest available date and communicate the details to me. Additionally, if any safety-related concerns are identified during the inspection, I request that appropriate actions be taken to rectify them in compliance with the highest safety standards. My 2015 Supercharged Range Rover Sport 5.0L V8 has unexpected rhythmic body movements while stationary. One side goes up and down then the other side goes up and down. This repeats every few seconds the whole ride, obviously more noticeable when stopped. You don't know if the dynamic system is working or not. It can push your car further in to the turn when it does it on a turn. If you are used to the dynamic system you may not be prepared for this issue especially since you don't know it is not working properly. This problem is reproducible, it does it every time I start my vehicle. There were no warning signs or lights that alert you that there is even an issue. It scares people who are not expecting the jolt when riding inside. More seriously it is a huge lawsuit waiting to happen because it is a tripping hazard when getting into the vehicle or out of the vehicle. It has the chance to raise up or down the moment you go to get in or raise and lower when stepping out. This is dangerous for anyone. Especially the handicap or elderly, they can easily miscalculate the height and cause them to lose balance, considering the whole car becomes unstable at the same time. There was already a Land Rover Technical bulletin posted about this possible issue with 2014-15.My car exhibits this exact problem. My car isn't within that vin range. However, it's doing the same thing thats listed here, maybe there are more vehicles involved than they originally thought? I have a video to share, contact me for it since I cant share on here. This is what the land rover technical bulletin said: Situation: A potential issue has been identified with the Dynamic Response valve block on certain 2014-2015 Range Rover Sport (L494) and Range Rover (L405) vehicles (5.0L S/C V8 only) within the listed VIN ranges. Unexpected body movements when the vehicle is stationary may be experienced due to the system self-test pulse resulting in pressure in the actuators which is normally isolate from them.

The Land Rover dealership inspecting my vehicle for routine service, found that both front spindles (right and left) had significant fatigue cracks in the metal of the front spindle assembly. The dealership stated it was a critical safety issue, and the entire front spindle assembly could break off or detach from the car while driving. The dealership will not allow the car to be driven in this condition. This vehicle has only 38,350 miles on it, and it is exclusively used for commuting between home and work. It has never been used off-road or in any improper manner. The metal (aluminum) used to forge the factory spindle assembly is defective and will prematurely crack under the weight of the vehicle and poses an immediate and potentially fatal danger to the driver and occupants.
