On April 24, 2023, while driving 53 mph down a busy highway the car just lost all power. I wasn’t able to control the vehicle then I stepped on the brakes but only if the back brakes worked. Which caused the vehicle to spin out of control until I eventually flipped the vehicle upside down into a ditch. It was one of the scariest things I’ve ever experienced. Besides the fact my drivers side head rest and seat bell we’re also broken at the time. I was going to the dealership on April 26th to have both the headrest and seat belt fixed. It’s also the second time the car lost power. In addition to that my headlights, rear lights, & windshield wipers, would suddenly stop working then work again. I totaled my Jeep and I’m now out of a vehicle since I had a active loan of the vehicle. I was suppose to be done with my payments in Aug of 2025. I don’t ever want anyone to experience what I went thru. I’m very very grateful and fortunate that I wasn’t seriously injured or killed because of this problem.

Additionally, the dealer diagnosed that the thermostat, radiator, starter, and motor mounts needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. Which could have caused an accident had driver had their head against headrest or been traveling at a faster speed. No warning lights or tones before deployment. Vehicle has not been inspected by dealership, manufacturer or police as Vehicle was not in an accident. They will not be notified due to no recall or warranty. Part will be replaced by onwer. After further inspection plastic clips inside the headrest failed.

The vehicle shifter design on this vehicle enables the shifting of the vehicle into an undesired gear without driver knowledge. I have shifted into reverse countless times when trying to shift to park or neutral when trying to shift to drive. I was attempting to hookup a trailer at a slight incline when I needed to adjust the vehicle slightly. I attempted to shift to drive but went to neutral. When I removed my food from the gas I rolled back into the trailer. This damaged my vehicle and could have serious consequences if a person is between the trailer and vehicle. This shifter need to be replaced before someone is injured or killed.

When i got out of the car I began dry heaving and felt extremely nauseated. i checked on my son who seemed ok and on the back of my vehicle which was in perfect condition. I was still very confused and checked on my son again who was crying and scared because " mama was hurt", its at that time that i notice my driver side head rest had exploded. it was completely split in half. my active driver head restraint that is built into the head rest had gone off for no reason. An hour after being struck in the head I was till experiencing nausea, pressure in my head, head ache, neck and back pain and dry heaving. because I'm also pregnant my husband drove me to urgent care. they said i had whip lash and likely a concussion but because I'm pregnant there wasn't much the could do for me without risk to the baby. Because this happened after service hours at Jeep I called the the next morning where they advised me there are no recalls on my jeep and no warranty on the head rest. I will need to pay for it to be looked at and pay for any parts necessary to repair it.

If there was a passenger in the front passenger seat they would have been killed. No warning lamps or indications the air bags would not work.

I lose driving power, it switches itself in neutral or the dash throws error symbols. I am at a point where paying for constant ‘repairs’ and insurance is becoming way too costly. I do NOT feel safe riding with my family in this car!!!

The contact stated that in the past after getting the same oil change, the warning light for the tire pressure sensor light was illuminated. The contact stated that every time they brought the vehicle in for inspection no failure was indicated despite the contact filling the tires with air. The contact stated that while driving on the freeway when they were attempting to drive the speed limit of 65 mph their vehicle could not accelerate beyond being between 45-50 mph. The contact was able to pull off the ramp where the vehicle eventually came to a seize. The vehicle began to smoke on the front end. The vehicle never turned into a full-blown fire however it did remain extremely overheated for a total of about 2 days. There were no injuries or medical attention needed. There was no police report. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The vehicle was diagnosed that the head gasket had blown and the engine had melted. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 117,000.

Driver headrest exploded into the back of my head while I was driving on a two-lane road (Hopper in Santa Rosa CA). Impact caused me to lose consciousness for several seconds, and I woke up on the wrong side of the road still in motion with my 6 year old daughter in the back booster seat. This problem is reflected in NHTSA online literature, a certified class-action suit, and online notices about potential recall. Headrest is being replaced for free but the Jeep dealer didn't have any in stock and there is no timeline to get it fixed. Currently working with Kaiser Permanente insurance plan and medical staff to help with neck, head, and back pain, and continuing dizziness on and off every day since the incident.

On April 23rd at 9:28pm I was driving my Jeep Grand Cherokee 2015 on a highway at approximately 45mph when suddenly the transmission slipped to neutral without any human interference. I tried shifting it back to drive but the transmission did not respond. The Jeep lost momentum very quickly and came to a complete stop in the highway. As soon as it went to a complete stop it locked itself in parking position and l lost all ability to put it back to drive. I turned my blinkers and emergency lights on, but one minute later I got rear-ended by a car traveling at 50mph. My Jeep Grand Cherokee 2015 got totaled and I was taken to the hospital in stable condition. I was in a bad collision due to the Jeep slipping into neutral and locking itself in parking. I lost ALL ability to control my Jeep. The jeep got towed to a safe location. Two weeks later, we needed to move the car to another area for the insurance inspection. The car turned on and moved, yet again when the car gained velocity, the gear slipped to neutral and again came to a complete stop it, locking the transmission in the parking position. I always took my car for regular maintenance and it was a very well kept Jeep Grand Cherokee 2015.
