HYUNDAI RECALL. I AM A 65 YEARS OLD, I PURCHASED THIS CAR ON NOV 2018 AND AS I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON THE HIGHWAY, THE CAR CAUGHT ON FIRE, THE FLAMES CAME THROUGH THE FLOOR PANEL AND THROUGH THE VENTS. MY ENTIRE AREA WHERE THE GAS & BRAKE PEDAL ARE BURNED UP, THE RADIO AREA AND CONSOLE AREA IS CHARRED BEYOND RECOGNITION. BY THE TIME THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED, THE ENTIRE CAR WAS IN FLAMES.

THE CAR WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY FRIDAY 11/23/2018 AT ABOUT 3:30 PM. THE NEXT DAY, SAT, 11/24/2018 ABOUT 12:45, A BOY BANGED ON THE FRONT DOOR OF THE HOUSE AND TOLD WIFE THE CAR WAS ON FIRE. SHE CAME AND GOT ME FROM THE BACK YARD AND I RAN AROUND TO THE DRIVEWAY. I SEEN FLAMES AROUND THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR QUARTER, THE WHEEL WELL,AND THE GAS CAP. I GRABBED A FIRE EXTINGUISHER FROM THE GARAGE AND SPRAYED IT AT THE GAS CAP AREA. THE WIFE SAID THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS ON THEIR WAY. I USED THE EXTINGUISHER AND THE WIFE BROUGHT ME ANOTHER ONE. I USED THEM TO TRY AND KEEP THE GAS CAP COOL. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT CAME AND I MOVED MY TRUCK FROM PARKED NEXT TO THE TUCSON TO ACROSS THE STREET AND OUT OF THE WAY OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT.THE CAR HAD NOT BEEN STARTED OR EVEN UNLOCKED SINCE IT WAS PARKED THE DAY BEFORE.

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2015 Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell verdict →
