The contact owns a 2015 Ford Transit. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the message "Exhaust filter overloaded, drive to clean", after which the vehicle entered LIMP Mode, and was unable to accelerate above 30 MPH. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). The vehicle was repaired under Customer Satisfaction Program: 23M01, but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 109,000.

The contact stated that the failure was related to Customer Satisfaction Program: 15B39 CPR and Technical Service Bulletin: 19-2091. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with water intrusion from insufficient sealing in certain areas of the engine compartment, allowing water entry into the engine compartment. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed that there was no warranty coverage on vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD TRANSIT. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT PUSHED THE VEHICLE TO A NEARBY PARKING LOT. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL RAIL ASSEMBLY, FILTER AND RETURN LINES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED AFTER 600 MILES WITH THE REDUCED POWER WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO GARY CROSSLEY FORD LOCATED AT (8050 N CHURCH RD, KANSAS CITY, MO 64158), TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL PUMP, FUEL PUMP AND LOW PRESSURE FUEL SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND DROVE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE MECHANIC THAT THERE WAS METAL BITS INSIDE THE FUEL SYSTEM AND THE FUEL INJECTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V618000 (FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL, ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) AS A POSSIBLE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO CLASSIC FORD (8540 TYLER BLVD, MENTOR, OH 44060, (440) 266-3000) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE BOLTS WERE FRACTURED AND NOT CONNECTED TO THE VEHICLE. THE BOLTS WERE STUCK IN THE ENGINE AND CAUSED A CARBON MONOXIDE LEAK. THE DEALER STATED THAT A NEW ENGINE NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 188,000.

THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO EMIT AN EXHAUST ODOR, THE ENGINE OCCASIONALLY RUNS ROUGH, THE REAR BRAKES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, PREMATURELY, AND THE POWER STEERING FAILED. *JS
