The backup camera on my 2015 Mustang has been repaired twice and continues to fail to work. The wiring harness for the camera in the trunk lid, was repaired once under warranty and again at my expense. On both occasions it worked briefly and failed. It still does nor work. I see there are many complaints about this problem and there is currently a recall. I have not heard from Ford

The rear backup camera will periodically fail and not show what is behind the vehicle while backing up. The backup camera monitor will receive a message that states contact the dealer for repair. This is similar to the same recall notice I received for my 2020 Ford Mustang GT, yet I have never received notification of a recall for the 2015 Ford Mustang GT. I reported this same issue to my Ford Dealer when I purchased my 2020 Ford Mustang GT. The lack of a back camera resulted in a collision in a parking lot while driving the 2015 Ford Mustang GT because the other driver was out of my line of sight while I was backing out of a parking space, resulting in a collision.

Recently, the camera on my 2015 Mustang has not been connecting regularly. The display will occasionally say the camera is not available, contact dealership. In researching it appears that the wiring to the camera and other associated trunk area lighting can be cut or worn through, creating a defective and potentially dangerous situation. The videos and comment sites are abundant with this issue. During my research, I noticed that there is a huge, nearly identical recall in place for 2020 vehicles. I suspect this is the same issue. The issue is not just happening in Mustangs. Other vehicles where the wiring is sheathed in a certain way or subject to movement can show the same issue.
