After driving until the engine is warm, the engine stalls when coming to a stop. It is intermittent. The engine restarts and acts normal. This happened a few years ago and then a few months ago and then a few weeks ago on [XXX] and [XXX]. It took two dealers to work on problem. There are no engine codes to point to problem. In the shop now. Apparently, it is the VCT solenoid. A known safety problem. [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I bought the vehicle 3 to four weeks ago. For about a total of 6 or 7 times since I purchased the vehicle, the vehicle unexplainably goes into Limp Mode for no apparent reason. The engine is idling but will not accelerate at all, which in my case was extremely dangerous. In one instance, I was going up a mountain pass in an area that is steep with many sharp turns creating a blind turn issue. The truck suddenly went into limp mode just on the other side of a sharp turn. Vehicles behind me had absolutely no warning that I was stopped in the middle of the road. A second time, I was accelerating into heavy traffic when it occurred. This created all sorts of havoc as I tried to warn other drivers that I was disabled. THIS IS CRITICAL and needs to be investigated.

The exhaust manifold on the 2015 Ford F-150 EcoBoost engine is designed with only eight securing bolts. Owners have reported that this number of bolts is insufficient to adequately secure the manifold, leading to heat-induced warping and subsequent exhaust leaks. The leaks cause an audible whistling noise when the engine is under acceleration, which not only affects vehicle performance but may also lead to more severe engine issues if left unaddressed. Many owners of the 2015 Ford F-150 EcoBoost engine have experienced similar issues, indicating a widespread design flaw. While the immediate issue is the noise and potential performance degradation, prolonged exhaust leaks can lead to more serious problems, including increased emissions and possible engine damage. The warping of the manifold could also lead to more severe mechanical failures if not properly addressed. Detailed Description: The exhaust manifold on the 2015 Ford F-150 EcoBoost engine is designed with only eight securing bolts. Affected Population: Many owners of the 2015 Ford F-150 EcoBoost engine have experienced similar issues, indicating a widespread design flaw. The problem typically arises in vehicles with relatively low mileage, highlighting a critical manufacturing oversight. The design of the exhaust manifold should be revised to include additional securing bolts to prevent future occurrences of warping and leaks.

My vehicle is a 4X4 Off Road F-150 crew cab. The concern is the vehicle had developed an oil leak due to the plastic oil pan developing a Crack init. Ford has issued to their dealer network a service letter describing the issue and fix. But the cost to repair this falls upon the owner to retrofit a metal oil pan. Cost for repair is approximately $1400.00. Ford put a plastic oil pan on an off road vehicle that should have never been done.

The 2015 F150 shifted itself from drive at 60mph to 1st gear. I as leading traffic when this occurred. The rest of traffic went around me as, I went to shoulder of rd. The F150 shuttered and was unable to be steered safely off the road. Warning lights flashed but as a driver I was unable to watch as traffic behind me was more important then watching F150. As a Simi was also close to me. This was a very scary event! As my husband was with me and is [XXX] he doesn't drive. Smoke came from under the vehicle. I see this is a common accurate with the F series of 2014. I would suggest checking the 2015. We have since had it fixed and it now drives better. I noticed a marked difference, from when I purchased it a few mos. Earlier. Seriously it could have been a wreck. Strong driving instinct is what saved us this time. In 2022, while behind the wheel of my 2015 F150, I would be driving down the highway (70+ mph) and the transmission would suddenly downshift to 1st gear, then jump to 3rd, and then back down to first gear, all over the place. This happened on several occasions. It was erratic, I experienced sudden changes in speed, sudden and frightening revving of the engine (especially on the highway) and on several occasions I had to make sudden changes to my driving to ensure my safety as well as the safety of others on the road. After I was able to pull over and turn my truck off, the truck would either not turn back on or take a while to be able to turn on. I had no warning that the transmission was about to shift gears and only noticed a check engine light after the incident had occurred. After taking my truck to a transmission shop and they did not find an issue with the transmission (it worked correctly while they test drove it), I took it to a Ford Dealership where I was told there was a fault with the CAM Shaft sensors. After a $3,000 repair to fix the issue, I recently found Ford has Recalled 2014 F-150s for issues that sound identical to what I was experiencing in my 2015 F-150.

The vehicle has been sent in for a loud passenger side noise while motor is started and driving. The smell of burnt oil was also an issue coming from the passenger side. Took it in and the mechanic noticed my valve cover (passenger side) is cracked. Cannot order new ones as they are on back order. The driver side has limited quantities with a wait time, and the passenger side valve covers have 0 in stock online and at the dealerships. The smell and smoke is getting progressively worse as there is no option to replace valve covers.

My 2015 Ford F-150 truck has had multiple issues related to performance issues, with only 80,000 miles on it. I have had issues with it losing power while driving, both with and without towing a trailer where it just powers down on the highway from 70-75 mph down to 40-50 mph in traffic. I usually just have to pull over, turn the engine off and then turn it back on and everything runs normal. It is currently at Phil Long Ford in Colorado Springs, CO, having the short block and driver side cylinder head replaced at 80,000 miles because it was smoking out the exhaust and they determined that it had coolant leaking into the #4 and #5 cylinders. This is after it had a completely new engine installed at 75,000 miles due to coolant leaking into the 3# cylinder and causing severe damage to the engine. It was in the repair shop from August 2023 until late December 2023 because the engines were are backorder. The Passenger side cylinder heads are currently on a 13 month backorder according to the dealership, which is why they are only replacing the short block and Driver side cylinder head this time, after only 5,000 miles on the replacement engine. I have also received multiple recall notifications regarding this vehicle, the most recent of which was on 4/22/2024 for #24E03 POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE UPDATE, none of which have been repaired during the multiple times and extended durations that my vehicle was at the Ford dealership for repairs. Two recalls existed and should have been repaired when my vehicle was at the dealership between August and December of 2023, and the most recent recall shows "No Remedy Available" for a PCM Module Software Update?

When I was driving a light came on that said low oil pressure. I checked the oil, and it was full. Driving to get it checked out the engine stopped. I had it towed to the FORD dealership. The engine failed at 81,000 on my 2015 FORD F-150. I was charged $220 for the FORD technicians to say "they do not know why the engine failed but for $16,000 they will put a new engine in." I asked for details as there is low miles on the engine. The technician said "they would be happy to tear apart the engine, for a fee, to find out." I asked about a warranty they said the motor is good for 60,000 miles after which point it is not covered. I found, on the internet, that the 2015 2.7 EcoBoost engine has problems with oil leaks and that the piston melt, fuse together and the engine stops. I also found there is a federal investigation into the 2.7 EcoBoost engine. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My latest issue is with the 2.7 ecoboost engine. I had a total failure of this engine last year and am still awaiting a replacement that I am paying for. This is unacceptable as I had this vehicle serviced according to maintenance schedule. I also have had systems report failure such as the hillside assist and the electronic parking brake. Additionally, the automatic transmission has locked up in third gear quite a few times. There are other issues such as a leaky oil pan and such.

This engine defect is well known to Ford ; it involves the 2015-2017 2.7 liter ecobost . These engines were produced with a faulty oil pan gasket . I just paid to replace the third oil pan . Taken in totality these leaking oil pans are a safety issue since oil is deposited on our roads leading to slick conditions and deteriorating road surfaces . Ford's most recent TSB related to this defect is TSB 24-2098 , which superceds TSB23-2330 . This defect effects thousands of Ford's 2.7 liter ecoboost engines .Please examine this safety issue .
