The sliding passenger door locks when the other doors are unlocked. But when you lock the car that door is not locked so we have to keep the kiddie lock on and not use it and sometimes we have to open it manually. The kiddie locks automatically comes on when the door closes.

Passenger rear sliding door on my 2015 Chrysler Town and Country will not unlock with the remote. This happens all the time and has become a great concern as it causes not only frustration for me but has caused stress for my grand children thinking they are stuck in the vehicle! This also causes my wife to have to open the passenger front door and reach between the seat and the "B" post to reach the lock and unlock the door. Then at this time the door must be opened manually or push the remote button again to try and open it. This happens in hot or cold weather. This could cause the door to fail to unlock in an panic causing injury or loss of life during an emergency. As a first responder this would cause us to have to figure out ways to cut the door open or use the jaws of life to open the door after a crash where the driver is unable to inform us of the issue in unlocking the door. Safety issue for sure that needs to be repaired by Chrysler at their expense since they know of the issue.

In July 2020, while on a trip, driving on the interstate at approximately 70mph, the driver front door window trim flew off, luckily not hitting the vehicle behind me. I suspect if would have caused damage if it had, even possibly going through a window. It cost $92 for the new part (APPLIQUE. B Pillar. Left). In January 2022, while on a trip, driving on the interstate at approximately 70mph, the passenger front door window trim flew off, luckily not hitting the vehicle behind me. As stated above, it could have been a problem had it hit any vehicle behind us. It cost $86 for the new part (APPLIQUE. B Pillar. Right) . I was able to find the parts online rather than going through a dealer (cost $150+ from them). A friend who works for Caliber Collision offered to put the replacement parts on for us, saving us labor costs. He mentioned he has seen this problem on numerous Town and Country vans. The only warning we had was a sudden high whistle as the piece came off. The parts never felt loose so we had no reason to suspect they would come off. This seems to be a design flaw that I think we should be reimbursed for. I can supply the receipts if that is a possibility.

The passenger right side sliding door locking mechanism has failed. It makes a very loud rattling / ratcheting sound when the door closes automatically. No warning lamps or messages indicating a failure. Date first noticed was June 22, 2022. The problem was reproduced and confirmed by an independent service center. We have been told the local Chrysler Dealer is backed up for months due to lack of Service Staff. The concern is for the safety of passengers in that the lock is not working properly and the door could open or possibly jam in an accident situation. We have been informed by others in the community that the Dealer has been known to confiscate vehicles that have recalls that they do not have parts or people to repair. Vehicles are kept behind a locked fence. This seems illegal. This vehicle is needed and can't be given up or seized by a dealer. No loaner vehicles.

THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR SLIDING DOOR (AUTOMATIC) DOES NOT FULLY LATCH, ESPECIALLY DURING HOT DAYS. IT CONTINUES TO TRY AND FULLY LATCH UNTIL I MANUALLY CLOSE IT BY HITTING THE AREA WHERE THE LATCH IS WITH A HIP OR FIST. AT TIMES IT WILL SET OFF THE ALARM WHILE STATIONARY IF THE DOORS ARE LOCKED AS THE DOOR WILL EVEN ATTEMPT TO OPEN ON IT'S OWN. BASED ON OTHER REPORTS I'VE READ OF PEOPLE HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM, THEIR DOORS HAVE EVEN UNLATCHED WHEN DRIVING. THIS IS A MAJOR CONCERN AS IT POSES A SAFETY HAZARD AND BASED ON RESEARCH I'VE CONDUCTED IT'S A KNOWN PROBLEM FOR THIS MODEL YEAR. PLEASE SEND TO CHRYSLER. THANK YOU!

ABOUT 1 YEAR AGO, A PIECE OF METAL DOOR TRIM CAME OFF THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR OF OUR VEHICLE WHILE IN MOTION. SINCE IT WASN'T COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, WE HAD TO PAY FOR PARTS AND LABOR TO HAVE THE PIECE REPLACED (~$150). ON WEDNESDAY 10/9/19, THE SAME TYPE OF TRIM CAME OFF ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR OF THE SAME VEHICLE WHILE MY WIFE WAS TRAVELING DOWN AN INTERSTATE. FORTUNATELY, IN BOTH INSTANCES, NEITHER PIECE STRUCK ANOTHER VEHICLE. ASIDE FROM THE FACT THAT THE PIECE IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY (THE VEHICLE HAS PASSED THE MANUFACTURER WARRANTY PERIOD) AND COSTS MORE FOR SOME REASON EVEN THOUGH IT APPEARS TO BE THE SAME TYPE OF TRIM AS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR, THE BIGGER CONCERN IS THAT A PIECE OF TRIM LIKE THIS THAT BECOMES LOOSE AND FALLS OFF AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED IS AN OBVIOUS SAFETY HAZARD TO OTHER MOTORISTS. THEREFORE, I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP TO ALERT THEM TO THIS ISSUE. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THEY TOO HAVE IDENTIFIED THIS AS AN ISSUE AS WELL WITH OTHER SIMILAR VEHICLES AND HAVE FORWARDED THE ISSUE UP TO CORPORATE. UNFORTUNATELY, CORPORATE DOESN'T FEEL THAT SUCH AN ISSUE RISES TO THE LEVEL OF A SAFETY RECALL - YET IT HAPPENED TWICE ON OUR VEHICLE ALONE. CORPORATE ALSO SAID THAT THEY WILL NOT COVER THE COST OF THE PIECE TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE OF THE VEHICLE BEING OUT OF WARRANTY. IN MY PERSONAL OPINION, WHETHER A VEHICLE IS IN OR OUT OF WARRANTY DOESN'T NEGATE OR EVEN LESSEN THE HAZARD AND POTENTIAL IMPACTS ASSOCIATED WITH THAT HAZARD - ESPECIALLY ON A VEHICLE THAT IS ONLY 3 1/2 YEARS OLD. MY BEST ASSESSMENT OF THE CAUSE OF THIS INCIDENT APPEARS TO BE RELATED TO THE TRIM DESIGN AND THE MANNER IN WHICH IT IS INSTALLED ON THE DOOR. IT ALSO APPEARS THAT, OVER TIME, VIBRATIONS FROM THE VEHICLE WHILE IT IS IN MOTION MAY CAUSE THE TRIM PIECE TO LOOSEN AND ULTIMATELY FAIL.
