On August 21, 2021 My Daughter [XXX], husband [XXX] and myself was in a car accident on the 495 beltway in PG County, Maryland. We where hit from the rear back side (fishtail) on the passenger of vehicle which caused the vehicle to spin across all 4 lanes and hit the guardrail.. The impact caused all of us to be locked inside the vehicle in which I had to physically kick my door open from the inside because I was unable to get out. I was able to get out and go to my husband side (drivers side) because he was bleeding from his head, I had to forcefully pull and pull to open his door because it was also jammed and wouldn’t open. Same for my daughters side(passenger rear).. The entire front of the truck was pushed back, doors, front and back of the vehicle was badly damaged and NOT ONE AIRBAG DEPLOYED.. NOT ONE. My husband was the driver and sustained head injuries with head bleeding and was transported via ambulance to NOVA Fairfax County Hospital. My daughter was transported via ambulance to Washington Hospital Trauma Center. I went to Washington Hospital Center ER but was unable to stay and went to Kaiser Permanente Urgent Care once my daughter was discharged from the Trauma Side of the hospital that night. Geico has determined that the truck is a totally lost and that the damages thus far have exceeded $30,000 but waiting on final approvals of Numbers. We do have a police report. To answer the question above. The airbags failed to deploy in the accident. We could have died. My husband had to get staples in his head and disk are messed up in his back. There where no warnings on the dash board before the crash. The vehicle has been inspected by the insurance company and the police on the scene. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

TAKATA RECALL- ON MAY 27 2016 WE WERE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT IN OUR 2015 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. 2 OF THE 4 PASSENGERS PASSED AWAY. WE WERE RAN OFF THE OF ROAD AND HIT TWICE BY A TRUCK PULLING A TRAILER. ALL AIRBAGS EXCEPT THE FRONT PASSENGER AND DRIVERS FRONT AIRBAG DEPLOYED. THIS OCCURRED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. WE CROSSED NORTHBOUND LANES AND CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP ABOUT 10 FEET OFF OF THE ROADWAY. A MOTORHOME TOWING A JEEP LOCKED THEIR BRAKES GOING APPROX 65 MPH WHEN THEY SAW US CROSS THE ROAD AND LOST CONTROL CAUSING THEM TO COME OFF OF THE ROADWAY. THEY HIT US, CAUSING US TO SPIN AROUND AND THEN HIT US AGAIN. THE ACCIDENT ENDED WITH US BEING SLAMMED INTO A CEMENT CULVERT. DURING THIS TIME THE FRONT AIRBAGS STILL DID NOT DEPLOY AND ALSO THE STEERING WHEEL BROKE OFF. THE FRONT PASSENGER PASSED AWAY AS WELL AS HIS SISTER SITTING BEHIND HIM. CAN SOMEONE LOOK INTO THIS AND SEE WHY THE FRONT AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND ALSO WHY THE STEERING BROKE? THANK YOU. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2015 Chevrolet Suburban verdict →
