I WAS DRIVING ON I-91 AT NORMAL HIGHWAY SPEED AND THE CAR SUDDENLY STARTED DECELERATING ON ITS OWN WITH NO WARNING LIGHTS OR OTHER INDICATION OF A PROBLEM. I PULLED OVER IMMEDIATELY AND SHUT THE ENGINE OFF AND GOT OUT TO INVESTIGATE AND SAW SMOKE UNDER THE HOOD. I CALLED 911 AND THE CAR WAS VISIBLY ON FIRE BY THE TIME THEY ARRIVED.

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2015 BMW 328d verdict →
