TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 VOLVO S60. WHILE ENTERING A COMMERCIAL GARAGE AND SLIGHTLY DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO TWO PARKED VEHICLES. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND THEN TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRONIC IGNITION SYSTEM AND BATTERY SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,000.
