LOUD CLANKING NOISE WHILE DRIVING. WAS DIAGNOSED AS FAULTY CONDENSER FAN AND LOSE BOLTS/SCREWS WHICH HOLD IT IN PLACE. MERCEDES-BENZ DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED SAID WILL COST $1,700-$1,800 TO FIX! INTERNET RESEARCH REVEALED TO ME THIS IS A COMMON DEFECT/PROBLEM. I PAID ALMOST $7,000 FOR MY SMART FOR TWO PURE COUPE. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE PAYING AN ADDITIONAL NEARLY $2,000 BECAUSE BOLTS JIGGLED LOSE.I NO LONGER FEEL SECURE IN MY CAR.NOW IM DRIVING IN HOT FLORIDA IN THE SUMMER WITH NO A/C BECAUSE I CANT AFFORD THIS FIX.

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your
pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the
