On 5/28/2019 Recall V06 was completed on my 2014 Dodge Ram 2500. As part of that repair the adjustment nuts on the steering drag link were welded to prevent loosening and potential separation. On 3/3/2026 I had new front suspension components installed by Les Schwab Tire Center. During that service the technician advised a wheel alignment could not be performed because the welded drag link nuts prevented the steering linkage from being adjusted. Alignment is normally required after front suspension work and necessary for proper steering geometry. Les Schwab advised that grinding the welds off the drag link to perform the alignment and then rewelding the component would be unsafe because it could introduce hidden stress or cracking in the steering component. They recommended replacing the drag link with a Moog DS801538A redesigned component. The drag link had to be replaced to restore normal steering adjustment and allow the vehicle to be properly aligned. On 3/3/2026 I requested reimbursement from Dodge/Chrysler for the drag link replacement required due to the recall repair. The request was denied. On 3/4/2026 Chrysler representatives acknowledged the welded drag link rendered the vehicle unserviceable for alignment yet still denied reimbursement. Chrysler’s Vehicle Alignment Clarification Letter states that after the recall repair, owners should still be able to obtain an alignment using an approved procedure. In my case, however, the welded drag link prevented any adjustment necessary to perform that procedure, making the vehicle unserviceable for alignment until the drag link was replaced. The recall repair rendered a steering component non-adjustable and prevented normal service, leaving the vehicle less serviceable than before the recall repair. Documentation and photos are attached.

I took my 2014 Dodge Ram 2500 (VIN: [XXX] ) to Glendora Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram on Lone Hill Ave. for Recall R46. The dealership kept my truck most of the day but did not perform the recall. Instead, they told me something untrue—that my upgraded suspension made the repair impossible—without ever attempting the repair. They then tried to pressure me into signing a waiver of liability stating the recall could not be performed and gave me the runaround when I refused. This dealership was unwilling to help me and misled me instead of completing a federally mandated safety recall. The Front Suspension Track Bar Frame Bracket R46/NHTSA 15V-541. There was a recall issued in 2016 that impacted around an estimated 150,000+ vehicles. I purchased my Truck in 2020, and according to records this problem was fixed in 2016. I recently noticed something seriously wrong with the front suspension while driving, and just about lost control of my vehicle on the highway. After taking it to a certified maintenance technician for Dodge Ram, they found that the Recall was not completed at all. This problem involves faulty welding and the weld can break loose at any given moment without being fixed properly with a stability bracket. Mine gave loose on the highway going 70mph. My concern is how many other vehicles were marked as fixed, but in actuality were not.

On the night of September 15, 2023, I was driving home from work around 8:00 pm. I hit a bump on the interstate and my truck started the "death wobble". Having driven a Dodge truck for a very long time, I was aware of what was going on. The vehicle starts to "wobble" uncontrollably until you come to a complete stop. I was doing 70 mph and in the left lane when this happened, it immediately pulled me to the ditch in the right lane on the side of the interstate. I researched the problem and found that it had an R46 recall and the bracket in said recall had been ripped from the frame and broken in half. I hauled the vehicle to Jeff Wilson Chrysler in Brookhaven and they sent pictures to whomever for the recall and it was denied for some reason. The Service Manager then sent it to someone else because he thought that it should have been fixed based off what he has seen. I then called 1-800-992-1997 to speak with someone about my issues and they proceeded to tell me that my recall had already been fixed. When I or Mr. Shane at Jeff Wilson types it in, it clearly states the R46 recall has not been fixed. There is nothing on this bar or bracket that has been done. This bracket breaking almost caused me to wreck and I cant get any help in getting it resolved. Mr. Shane at Jeff Wilson in Brookhaven has been nothing but fantastic in this matter and continues to try and help me get it resolved with no help coming from anyone above the dealership. The vehicle is undrivable and has been out of commission for 5 weeks now with no progress. Any help in this matter would be appreciated.

I HAVE A 2014 DODGE RAM2500 TRUCK, THERE WAS A SAFETY RECALL ON THE WELDING ON THE FRONT SUSPENSION TRACK BAR FRAME BRACKET THAT WAS IMPROPERLY WELDED DURING THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS. THE FIX WAS TO HAVE A BRACKET PLACED WITH ONE 60-70MM LONG M10 BOLT WITH 1.5 PITCH THREADS, ONE M10X1.5 PITCH THREAD NUT, THREE M10 FLAT WASHERS I BROUGHT MY TRUCK IN BECAUSE IT START POPPING EVERY TIME IN TURNED EITHER RIGHT OR LEFT I WAS TOLD THAT THE RECALL FIX HAD EXPIRED THERE NO WARRANTY ON THIS TO FIX IT NOW. SO I'M CONFUSED IT A SAFETY ISSUE AND NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL?? BECAUSE THE RECALL FIX HAS NO WARRANTY THE WARRANTY IS ONLY FOR 2 YEARS. SO I BOUGHT A TRUCK NEW WITH DEFECTS AND IT MY PROBLEM THAT WE'RE NOT KNOWN AT THE TIME FROM THE MANUFACTURE. NOT SURE HOW THIS IS RIGHT OR FAIR TO THE CUSTOMER. IT A SAFETY ISSUE NOT COSMETIC. STARTED UP MY TRUCK TO GO TO TOWN, ENGINE CAME ON ABOUT 5 MIN IN THE DRIVE SO I TOOK IT STRAIGHT TO O'REILLYS WHERE THEY DID THE SCAN AND THE COMPUTER SAID MISFIRE IN CYLINDER 3. SO WE CHANGED THE SPARK PLUGS AND TOOK IT BACK TO RESET THE LIGHT, STARTED IT BACK UP AND LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN WITH SAME EXPLANATION. SO WE PARKED THE VEHICLE UNTIL WE COULD FIND WHAT WAS GOING ON, TALKED TO A MECHANIC AND HE SAID PROBABLY THE CAM/LIFTER PROBLEM, HE LOOKED AT THE VEHICLE SEEN I HAD A DROPPED VALVE SEAT(VERY ODD FOR JUST STARTING UP A VEHICLE) SO WE CALLED DODGE AND THEY INSISTED THEY HAD TO DIAGNOSIS IT SO WE PAID A TOWING COMPANY TO HAUL IT TO THEM. DODGE CALLED ME BACK AND SAID DROPPED VALVE SEAT BUT ALSO CAM/LIFTERS NEED REPLACED. I DONT SEE HOW DODGE CAN JUST SAY IT'S ON YOU TO FIX WITH THIS MANY VEHICLE OWNERS ALL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS EXPENSIVE FIXES BUT NOT ONLY THAT I HAVE A TRUCK WITH A LOAN PAYMENT THAT I CANNOT DRIVE TILL IT'S FIXED.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 RAM 2500 DIESEL. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SHOCK ABSORBER TOWER WAS NOT FULLY WELDED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE VEHICLE AND THEY COULD NOT TOUCH OR REPAIR THE VEHICLE DESPITE IT HAVING BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY COVERAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WOULD REPAIR THE VEHICLE HIMSELF. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT ASSIST AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000. THE BALL JOINTSO ON THE TRUCK WAS REPLACED ABOUT A YEAR AGO AND IN SEPTEMBER WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR WORK IN TOLD THEM THEY WERE BAD AND CHECK IT OUT.AND NOTHING WAS DONE. IT IS AT THE DEALERSHIP AS I WRITE THIS AND I LET THEM KNOW THETHAT WERE BAD AGAIN THERE IS CLUNKING WHEN YOU JACK THE TRUCK UP AND PUSH ON THE TIRE. ALSO VIBRATION WHEN DRIVEN. OUR 2014 DODGE RAM 2500 WAS TURNED IN ON 8/10/16 TO OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR WORK ON THE SAFETY RECALL R46. AFTER FINDING TWO CRACKS ON THE TRACK BAR BRACKETS AFTER INITIAL INSPECTION, OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP DID NOT FOLLOW THE PROPER RECALL INSTRUCTIONS FOR REPAIR WORK BY FAILING TO DISPATCH CHRYSLER'S WELDING TEAM TO THEIR DEALERSHIP FIRST AND INSTEAD USED NON-CERTIFIED CHRYSLER WELDERS TO MAKE THE RECALL REPAIRS TO OUR VEHICLE INSTEAD. OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP INITIALLY ASKED US TO SIGN A WAIVER RELEASING THEM OF ANY WRONG DOING IN ORDER TO GET OUR VEHICLE BACK SOONER (WE DECLINED). ONCE THE CHRYSLER WELDING TEAM WAS NOTIFIED AND BECOME INVOLVED WITH THE LOCAL DEALERSHIPS ERROR THEY DEEMED THE OTHER NON CHRYSLER CERTIFIED WELDERS WORK UNSATISFACTORY AND THEREFORE THEY WOULD NOT STAND BEHIND THE WORK THAT WAS HANDLED BY THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP. THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP ADMITTED TO THEIR ERROR AND AS A RESULT WERE TOLD TO START OVER AND REPLACE THE ENTIRE FRAME TO OUR VEHICLE AT THE LOCAL DEALERSHIPS EXPENSE BEFORE MOVING FORWARD. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 RAM 2500. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A MANUFACTURER RECALL NOTICE FOR THE SWAY/TRACK BAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE LOCK NUT WAS LOOSELY CONNECTED. AS A RESULT, THE BOLT WAS TIGHTENED AND THE SWAY/TRACK BAR WAS REPLACED. WEEKS LATER, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WAS NOT PROPERLY ALIGNED AND THERE WAS AN EXTREMELY STRONG VIBRATION.
