TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 LEXUS LS460. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, A BURNT ODOR DEVELOPED INSIDE THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT DID NOT KNOW THE ORIGIN OF THE ODOR. THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR PANEL NEAR THE LOCATION OF THE COURTESY LIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, BUT NO DEFECTS WERE FOUND THAT MAY HAVE CAUSED THE SMALL FIRE AROUND THE LIGHT, WHICH DAMAGED THE LEATHER ON THE DOOR PANEL. THE MANUFACTURER SENT A FIELD INVESTIGATOR WHO DETERMINED THAT THERE WERE NO WORKMANSHIP DEFECTS FROM THE FACTORY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,306.

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2014 Lexus Ls460l verdict →
