The representative stated that the Lewisville Police Dept. also completed a report, case number 250068809.

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while stopped at a red light, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact's vehicle was rear-ended. The contact's wife, who was the other occupant of the vehicle, was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle. The contact's wife sustained a dislocated left hip. In addition, the contact's wife had previously had a left hip replacement and undergone four left hip surgeries. The vehicle was driven to the contact's residence. A police report was filed; however the information was unavailable. The contact stated that three months after the vehicle was purchased, the ABS, traction control, and several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a failed ABS module. The contact was informed that the ABS module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed that the parts were on back order. The contact stated that the order was placed almost thirteen months ago. The contact stated that the vehicle was almost rear-ended two times recently. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline and report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.

Oil Filter Housing cracked. Oil pools on top of engine and under intake manifold. Oil runs down the right side of engine - taking out an oxygen sensor in the process as the wiring harness gets soaked in oil. Oil ran down onto transmission and exhaust manifolds creating odor and a lot of smoke - not to mention the oil all over my driveway and street. Evidently, this is a known problem to the manufacturer. It is reported hundreds of times on this site and thousands of times on various internet sites. Clearly there are manufacturing problems that are at fault and creating serious safety and economic impacts to owners. Research across various platforms indicates that it is not a matter of "if this will happen," but "when" it will happen. Where is the accountability to the manufacturer? Why is NHTSA NOT doing something to protect the consumer and the public?

Fuse box on right hand side of engine compartment caught fire and was smoldering. Jeep at time was turned off and in a parked position when this occurred. Tail lights were flashing and windshield wiper were going without being turned on. Remote would not unlock Jeep and entire cabin was filled with smoke. If I had been driving vehicle, I would have been unable to stop. Auto Gear Shifter locked up and I would have been unable to see how to drive due to amount of smoke entering cabin and all power components failing.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED BECAUSE THE DEALER STATED THE PARTS FOR THE REPAIR WAS ON BACK ORDER AND THEY DO NOT KNOW WHEN THEY WOULD HAVE IT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,000.

ENGINE OIL LEAK (FIRE HAZARD). THE ENGINE OIL FILTER HOUSING (PART NUMBER 68105583AA) IS WIDELY REPORTED TO FAULTY BY OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE YEAR (2014). THIS PART CRACKS UNDER ROUTINE DRIVING AND LEAKS ENGINE OIL ONTO HOT SYSTEM COMPONENTS, SUCH AS THE EXHAUST CROSS OVER AND TRANSMISSION, WHERE THE OIL BURNS AND CREATES A FIRE HAZARD. MYSELF AND MY PASSENGERS HAVE NOTICED THIS SMOKE BEFORE IT IGNITED. HOWEVER OTHERS HAVE REPORTED A FIRE. THE OIL LEAK GENERALLY OCCURS WHEN THE ENGINE HAS COME UP TO TEMPERATURE AND THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN MOTION LONG ENOUGH TO REACH NORMAL OPERATING OIL PRESSURE AND TEMPERATURE. THE PROBLEM OCCURS IF THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY OR IN MOTION, REGARDLESS OF ROAD CONDITIONS. THE LEAK IS NOT IMMEDIATELY DETECTED BY A LOW OIL PRESSURE, HIGH TEMPERATURE, OR OTHER SIMILAR WARNING, FURTHER INCREASING THE FIRE RISK. FURTHER, THE LEAKING OIL POSSES AN ENVIRONMENTAL DANGER AND IS HAZARDOUS. PRIOR MODEL YEARS HAD A DIFFERENT, METAL PART WHICH DOES NOT CRACK AND LEAK UNDER ROUTINE USE. THE TECH THAT WORKED ON MY JEEP, MIKE POLLARD, SAYS HE SEES THIS ISSUE ALL THE TIME, ADVISED ME TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS AND THEN FILE FOR REIMBURSEMENT WITH THEIR CORPORATE OFFICE SINCE IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND MY JEEP ONLY HAD 43,500 MILES ON IT (WELL UNDER THE 100,000 MILE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY). WELL, I DID AS HE ASKED, BUT CORPORATE CUSTOMER CARE IS USELESS, WILL NOT REACH OUT TO THE TECH AS ASKED, AND ARE DOING THEIR BEST TO NOT PAY BECAUSE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THERE IS NOT A RECALL. SUMMARY: OIL COOLER HOUSING CRACKED. THIS OCCURRED AT LESS THAN 51,000. WE WERE LUCKY THAT IT HAPPENED IN OUR GARAGE RATHER THEN WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. WHEN CAR WAS 3 MONTHS OLD, I WAS PUTTING GEAR SHIFT INTO PARK AND IT POP BACK OUT AND I ALMOST WAS RAN OVER BY VEHICLE.
