The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the low-voltage battery warning light illuminated and white smoke exited from under the hood compartment. The contact stated that the failure occurred directly as he arrived at his residence. The contact parked the vehicle and opened the hood. The contact noticed a crackling sound. The contact used the water hose and sprayed the engine down. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed coolant pump and an unknown belt. The contact was informed that the coolant pump and the unknown belt needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The failure reoccurred. The check engine warning light illuminated, and white smoke exited from under the hood compartment. The contact parked the vehicle and opened the hood. The contact noticed that the alternator was fire-red. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, however, the vehicle had not been diagnosed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 74,000.

The contact's son and the other passengers exited the vehicle and walked 20 feet away. The contact stated that the entire vehicle caught on fire. The fire was extinguished by the fire department. The contact stated that the vehicle was severely burned from the front end to the rear seats. There were no injuries sustained. The contact was unsure whether a fire department report and a police report were filed. The vehicle was towed and totaled. The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The problem with my vehicle is with emissions system which was covered under the Ecodiesel Extended Warranty lawsuit the EPA filed against the manufacturer Stellantis. My jeep has been down at Crystler Dodge Jeep Ram dealerships for 2 years. The extended warranty states they would repair problems, but they have not. I was told today that they will only give me 8741 for my car but they want to keep it. I’ve had to go to the hospital twice from the first dealership that had my car for a whole year giving me carbon monoxide poisoning. I’ve been paying full coverage insurance for 2 years. This manufacturer has placed and is placing me in a hardship. They said they would/ coukd repair my car and stayed in writing they would have certified techs working on my car, they had the parts manager working on my car and almost killed me. Now, their leadership is trying to bully me into selling them my car for this low ball amount. Why didn’t they offer to buyback before putting me through 2 years of hell. Is it Leah’s to breach a binding legal contract they agreed to honor. I am aware they are to suffer penalties for not honoring the warranty, and for not keeping databases updated by VIN. I was told my parts weren’t covered for months, I had to constantly show them the warranty said the parts were covered they trying to charge me for. I want my vehicle fixed under the extended warranty. I want compensation for this excessive time, and for them not honoring the consent decree they told the EPA and NHTSA they would honor. Please help me get my vehicle fixed under my extended warranty. My car is covered til 199,189 miles or May 13, 2024. I really need help, the manufacturer is not adhering to the consent decree they promised the government and NHTSA they would.

traveling on S Sterling Street in Morganton, NC on the morning of July 12, 2023. We were going speed limit20 mph on a one way street, then car made rumbling sound and accelerated on its own at approximately 60-70 mph. I put on brakes,but car did not slow down...weaved thru traffic to avoid hitting anyone..could not get car to slow down and unfortunately hit a car in front of us. All persons were taken to hospital..myself, my wife and person in the other car that was impacted. All persons suffered broken bones. Both cars were totaled. Since accident have read up on this type vehicle accelerating on its own. We were lucky no one was killed. This needs to be looked into before it takes a life.

Additionally, while the transmission was shifted into neutral (N), the vehicle stalled, causing the contact to crash into a tree. The contact sustained injuries, and medical attention was received. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard. The vehicle was deemed totaled by the insurance company. Additionally, the contact stated that when he turned off the AC, the vehicle would shut off. The contact stated that while the transmission was shifted into drive (D) it inadvertently shifted into neutral (N). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. My son started the Jeep Monday morning and the engine light came on which has never happened before. Then something occurred under the hood and there was a fire. Luckily my son was able to get to a garden hose and put out the fire but now I have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee that has fire damage and needs to be taken into a Jeep dealership for repairs. I have only had the vehicle for a little over 2 years.

I was driving home and my Jeep started making a weird noise and then a warning popped up about battery voltage I was really confused so I pulled over popped the hood it looked fine but just in case I decided I would go to the nearest VIP which was probably 5 miles from where I had pulled over maybe even shorter. As Im driving over there my Jeep starts smoking so I pull into VIP and pop the hood we look at it and my alternator is smoking so we pour some water on it to cool it down. After doing that a little bit and it stopped smoking as bad we let it sit. A couple minutes later the alternator catches on fire so kept pouring water on it till it completely went out and stopped smoking.

The contact owned a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V699000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) however, the part to the recall was unavailable. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer and was confirmed that the part was not available. The contact stated on 1/26/2022 after turning on the ignition, the electronic throttle control warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to drive to her residence. The contact called the local dealer and made them aware of the failure and was not able to schedule an appointment till April/2022. The contact called another local dealer: Calavan CDJR West (1251 Thornton Rd, Lithia Springs, GA 30122:(770) 942-1102), and was able to make an appointment for 1/31/2022 to diagnose the failure and complete recall associated with the VIN. The contact stated on her way to her appointment while driving 65 mph when depressed the accelerator pedal but failed to go over 60 mph. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to park on the side of the road and called the local dealer Calavan CDJR West to seek towing service. The dealer was informed to call any towing company to have the vehicle towed. The contact stated while calling a towing company, she saw smoke exiting the front of the hood. The contact was able to exit the vehicle safely before the vehicle was engulfed in fire. The contact stated no one was injured nor sought medical attention. The fire department extinguished the fire. A fire report was filed. The contact stated two police troopers were near and were able to assist the contact. A police report was not filed. The insurance company deemed the vehicle a total loss. The vehicle was towed to towing lot. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.

The contact stated that while traveling at highway speeds, the vehicle would stall and jerk upon the depression of the accelerator as the FCM and check engine warning lights would illuminate the instrument. The contact stated that he would be forced to pull over and restart the vehicle to resume normal driving. The contact also stated that while at a stop, the vehicle stalled as he depresses the accelerator to the floorboard. Due to the failure, another vehicle rear-ended him at a low rate of speed. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. No injuries were reported and a police report was not filed. The vehicle was able to drive away from the scene; however, the vehicle had sustained rear-end damage. Vehicle stopped in the middle of the freeway had to put it in park and restart to move, happened dozen of times.

I AM A PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER THAT DETERMINED THE FIRE ORIGIN AND CAUSE OF THE VEHICLE IS DUE TO THE SAME ISSUE. YESTERDAY, I PARTICIPATED IN A DESTRUCTIVE EXAMINATION OF THE VEHICLE WITH A REPRESENTATIVE FOR FCA PRESENT. HOWEVER, I AM NOT CONFIDENT THAT FCA WILL PROVIDE NOTICE OF THIS ISSUE TO NHTSA IN A TIMELY MANNER, IF FCA PROVIDES NOTICE AT ALL. THE FIRE ORIGINATED INSIDE THE ENGINE INTAKE CONSISTENT WITH AN EGR COOLER FAILURE. I URGE NHTSA TO INVESTIGATE THIS MODEL VEHICLE AND EXTEND THE RECALL BEYOND THE DODGE RAM 1500 TRUCKS. THERE HAVE BEEN 9 RECALLS, 16 SERVICE BULLETINS, AND 5 INVESTIGATIONS'.IN ADDITION THERE ARE 587 DRIVER/OWNER COMPLAINTS. MY PROBLEMS: INSTABILITY OF THE TRANSMISSION. AFTER PARKING NEXT TO A STORAGE BIN, TRANSMISSION SLIPPED OUT OF PARK AND THE JEEP MOVED FORWARD CRUSHING MY LEG IN THE DOOR AND DENTING/SCRATCHING THE EXTERIOR OF VEHICLE. THERE HAS BEEN NO INDICATION THAT FCA (JEEP) HAS RESOLVED THIS ISSUE. ANOTHER PROBLEM I'M HAVING, WHICH HAS BEEN PLAGUING MANY OTHER JEEP OWNERS, IS WHERE THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATES WITH NO INDICATION OF SPECIFIC INFORMATION WITH REGARD TO WHAT THE MALFUNCTION MIGHT BE. AFTER 5 SERVICE VISITS OVER THE PAST 2 YEARS , JEEP HAS PROVEN THEY UNABLE TO REMEDY THIS. I CONTINUE DRIVING WITH UNCERTAINTY AND STRESS WITH MY PASSENGERS AND I FEARING OURLIVES MAY BE ENDANGERED. THE ENGINE LIGHT IS CURRENTLY ILLUMINATED. I AM NOT GETTING THE LEVEL OF VEHICLE SAFETY AND DEPENDABILITY I AM PAYING FOR. JEEP ROLLAWAY COMPLAINT: MY BRAND NEW 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE ROLLED AWAY FROM ME WHEN I PUT IT INTO PARK. I GOT OUT OF THE CAR TO GET THE MAIL AND FEW SECONDS LATER, I HEAR A CRASH. THE JEEP ROLLED OFF THE DRIVEWAY INTO A TREE. THANK GOD NO ONE WAS IN THE WAY AND MY DAUGHTER WAS NOT IN THE CAR. I GOT BACK INTO THE CAR AND FOUND THAT IT WAS IN REVERSE, NOT PARK! THE FONT BUMPER WAS DISLODGED AND SMASHED. I HAD BEEN HAVING A LOT OF TROUBLE GETTING THE ELECTRON GEAR SELECTOR TO CHOOSE THE CORRECT GEAR SINCE THE DAY I BOUGHT THE CAR. 50% OF THE TIME I WOULD DISCOVER THAT I WAS IN REVERSE WHEN I THOUGHT I WAS IN PARK. THERE IS VERY LITTLE CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE TWO GEARS, NOTHING DEFINITIVE LIKE THERE IS ON A SLIDE TRACK IN MOST CARS WITH A DEFINITIVE CLUNK WHEN YOU PUT IT INTO PARK. THE ONLY WAY TO BE ABSOLUTELY SURE WAS TO LOOK DOWN AT THE GEAR SHIFT TO SEE THE LIGHT INDICATOR. I'VE BEEN DRIVING ALL MY 59 YEAR OLD LIFE AND HAVE NEVER HAD AN ACCIDENT. I WAS SO UPSET AND FRUSTRATED WITH THE GEAR SHIFT THAT I TOOK IT BACK AND ORDERED A 2013 JEEP WITH THE OLD GEAR SHIFT ON A TRACK SYSTEM. I'D HAD IT! IF THEY DON'T CHANGE THE GEAR SYSTEM IN THE NEXT JEEP, I WILL HAVE TO BUY A DIFFERENT MAKE. THE PROBLEM, ALTHOUGH MAY HAVE BEEN SOME KIND OF DEFECT IN THE ELECTRONIC GEAR SHIFT, IS, IN MY OPINION, NOT A DEFECT, SO NATURALLY CHRYSLER WILL NOT FIND ANY DEFECTS. I THINK IT IS POOR DESIGN AND A HAZARD. IT IS A HUMAN INTERFACE PROBLEM. PARK SHOULD NOT BE SO CLOSE TO REVERSE. THE GEAR SHIFT ONLY MOVES ABOUT A 1/4 INCH ONE WAY OR THE OTHER. ALSO, ANOTHER INCIDENT: I WAS MAKING A LEFT AND HAD TO BREAK HARD FOR A SEC, MY PURSE MOVED FORWARD AND EASILY PUSHED THE GEAR INTO NEUTRAL WHEN I NEEDED TO BE IN GEAR FOR ONCOMING TRAFFIC. STUPID DESIGN.

WHILE DRIVING AT 80 MPH, A VERY LARGE BUCK RAN IN FRONT OF THE CAR ON THE INTERSTATE. AFTER DRIVING BACK BY TO SEE THE DEER THE NEXT DAY IT WAS PROBABLY AROUND 300 LBS. THE ENTIRE FRONT PORTION OF MY VEHICLE WAS CAVED IN. NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED WHATSOEVER. HITTING SOMETHING SO MASSIVE AT SUCH A HIGH RATE OF SPEED SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED SOME SORT OF SAFETY MECHANISM I.E (AIRBAGS!!!!!)

FROM A STOP, RIGHT TURN, ACCEL TOWARDS PLANNED SPEED OF 60. AT APP. 50MPH APPROACHING GUARDRAILS THEN BRIDGE THE VEHICLE 'LOCKS UP' (NO SCREECHING BRAKES), THOUGHT 'TRANS' (PREVIOUS UNRESOLVED PROBLEMS), ENGINE SPUTTERS, ABOUT TO DIE, SPEED HAS DROPPED 30MPH, (ASSUME NO BRAKE LIGHTS). QUICK DECISION (RAILS 75'), GET TO SHOULDER. SMALL SHOULDER, DEEP DITCH WITH A STEEP DOWNHILL PITCH TO THE RIVER. JUST AS I WAS ABOUT TO ENACT THE DECISION THE ENGINE "ROARS" TO LIFE AND HITS 65MPH BEFORE I CAN REACT AND APPLY THE BRAKES MID-BRIDGE. THE WHOLE INCIDENT ONLY TOOK SECONDS, MAYBE 7 TO 10. TOOK IT, ONCE AGAIN, TO BLEVINS MOTORS, POTSDAM NY AND ONCE AGAIN WAS TOLD THAT THEIR DIAGNOSTIC COMPUTER SAW NO ABNORMALITIES. THIS TIME I ASKED FOR A PRINT OUT OF SAID REPORT AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO SUCH THING AS A 'PRINT OUT'. I AM A 100% DISABLED VET WITH A HEAD INJURY AND PTSD. THIS THE SALESMAN WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FIRST THING. I DID NOT MENTION THE PTSD AS IT HAD ALWAYS BEEN MY PROBLEM AND EXPLOSIVE ANGER WAS NEVER PRESENT. THE "INJURY" WAS AFTER MONTHS OF LIES AND 'DIRTY DEALING' FROM THE START THAT THEY FINALLY 'BEAT A PATH' IN MY BRAIN TO THE ANGER PART. IT LED TO MANY VISITS WITH MY VA PSYCHOLOGIST, LOSS OF FRIENDS AS I SEEMED ABNORMALLY CONSUMED WITH MY ILL-TREATMENT BY BLEVINS, WHICH I WAS, AND TOTAL FRUSTRATION THAT I HAD NO RECOURSE VIA THE LAW BECAUSE I COULD "BLOW" AT THE LEAST SLIGHT. I HAVE TO A GREAT DEGREE PUT THE 'PTSD' BACK IN ITS BOX, BUT THE DAMAGE TO WHAT WAS AN ALREADY SLOWLY SLIPPING BRAIN THAT I HAD ACCEPTED, IT TOOK A BIG HIT DAMAGE WISE. I NO LONGER CHECK E'MAIL. MY DAUGHTER WAS PARKING HER 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE OUTSIDE OF A RETAIL STORE. AS SHE SLOWED AND PULLED INTO A PARKING SPACE, THE JEEP SUDDENLY SURGED FORWARD, JUMPING THE CURB, CROSSING A SIDEWALK, GOING THROUGH A SMALL GRASS MEDIAN, AND INTO A DIFFERENT AREA OF THE PARKING LOT. THE POLICE REPORT, OKLAHOMA CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT, CASE NUMBER 15-REDACTED, ACCURATELY RECORDS THE SURGE. THE OFFICERS CONCLUSION WAS DRIVER ERROR. THROUGH RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND NUMEROUS SIMILAR COMPLAINTS CONCERNING 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEES. I CALLED THE SERVICE MANAGER FOR THE JEEP DEALERSHIP WHERE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. I TOLD HIM ABOUT THE ACCIDENT AND THAT WHEN THE JEEP CAME IN FOR REPAIR, I WANTED THE ACCIDENT DATA PRESERVED. HE TOLD ME THE ONLY DATA THAT HE COULD OBTAIN WAS JEEPS PROPRIETARY INFORMATION, WHICH I COULD NOT HAVE. A REPRESENTATIVE FORM MY INSURANCE COMPANY IS ADAMANT THAT WE, AS THE OWNERS OF THE JEEP, HAVE A RIGHT TO ANY INFORMATION CAPTURED BY THE JEEPS SYSTEMS. HOWEVER, THE INSURANCE COMPANY HAD NO WAY TO OBTAIN THAT INFORMATION WHEN THEY APPRAISED THE DAMAGE TO THE JEEP. I NEED HELP IN OBTAINING THE DATA BY SOMEONE OUTSIDE OF JEEP WHO CAN ACCESS IT, OR HELP TO COMPEL JEEP TO PROVIDE ME WITH THE INFORMATION, HENCE THIS ONLINE SUBMISSION.
